Stan Lee - December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018

I'm confused by this news, but Christopher Nolan knows how to make movies, especially those of the Batman variety. I'll trust him on this one.

I have faith in Nolan but I really hope he doesn't do what other three's did and try to cram too many characters into one story. It sure as hell didn't work for X3 and it certainly didn't work for Spider-Man 3.

Yes but Spider-Man 3 wasn't Raimi's fault. He didn't want to use Venom because he never read Venom growing up (Raimi read Spider-Man in the 70's and Venom was introduced in the 80's). But everyone wanted Venom, hell even I wanted Venom oh so bad. We were all waiting for him in part 3. It was going to be epic! Lord of the Rings epic! Save the best for last! But Raimi wasn't aware of this... So the studio forced him to introduce Venom which ruined the movie.

...oh yeah, and there was also the whole "Sandman killed your uncle Ben" story that I hated. You can't blame Sony Pictures for that one!

But regardless, Raimi did a damn good job with 1 and 2. Hmmm, just like how Nolan did a damn good job with Batman 1 and 2...Uh-oh... okay I'm freaking out. Someone tell me everything is going to be okay!

This is why I didn't like Spiderman 3:

Yup, it was pretty bad. But that also had to do with Venom since its origin begins with the symbiote infecting Peter Parker first. For some reason Raimi decided to make Parker's "dark side" comedic.... Nobody was laughing :?

I'm 90% sure Sam just told Tobey to go nuts because they will likely get fired after this. From what I remember Raimi didn't want to make a third one but was forced to by Sony through contract or something.

So that translates into - He was made to do something he didn't want to do, instead of sucking it up, accepted his millions and made a movie for the fans, he decided "fuck it, I'm gonna be a big baby about it"?

To be fair, the real money was always going into Sony's pockets from the beginning and they're not exactly hurting for cash. Spider-Man had become a guaranteed blockbuster no matter who was in it, so why did the studio bother fudging about with the script? Sony was pushing his direction in ways he hadn't planned, so yeah, I'd be upset about that too.

Now Spidey 4's* ready to alienate fans the globe over, riding on the success of that Raimi built. Raimi stood his ground against the studio, you have to respect that.

*The Amazing Spider-Man #1 -- Chris S.

LOL Chris.

I don't think Raimi was being a baby Leathen and I don't think he was giving his fans the finger Links. I honestly think Raimi was doing what he thought was best. Raimi has a dark sense of humor and tried to convey that in the symbiote story-line. I always figured that he just didn't get it.

Maybe he was so pressed for time that he skimmed the story briefly and didn't have enough time to understand it well enough to adapt it into a film? Who knows.

Good trailer. I've never been to into Thor as a solo character. He's always just been that unrelateable meathead in the Avengers to me.

My expectations for Thor is that my reaction will be a similar reaction to Iron Man 1, walk in not expecting much and walked out very satisfied. Never knew anything about Thor and never truly cared for him, I doubt this movie would make me want to follow Thor.

I re-watched the Green Lantern trailer because a couple of friends of mine keep assuring me that the movie will be good and I still don't think the movie looks great. The costume looks too CGI-yin my opinion and there are other things that look inadequate but overall just doesn't look like something I should get excited over.

Every time I watch the Captain America trailer I get more excited but that is being aided by the promotional comic series Marvel released for the movie called Captain America the First Avenger (same title as the movie).

Even though it isn't based on a comic (I think) but the movie "Super" sounds great, only heard a bit about it but it's similar to the fashion of Kick-Ass about a normal guy creating a superhero persona with that dark, violent movie atmosphere. Stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tylor and Kevin Bacon.

Don't know if you guys watch the animated comic movies, but All Star Superman just came out and it was damn satisfactory. I don't even care for Superman, but DC and Warner Bros. just know what they're doing when it comes to animated films.

Why can't Marvel make a good animated movie?

I've seen a couple Chris. Superman Doomsday and Batman Under the Red Hood which were both really well done. I'm going to start the Superman/Batman Apocalypse movie.

Thanks for the heads up on All Star Superman Chris, just added it to my queue. I've seen the ones Lethean mentioned along with Sup/Bat: Public Enemies and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths and have massively enjoyed each one of them. They really know what they are doing with the cartoon iterations.

Justice League New Frontiers was great too, even though nothing really happens. The style is incredible, and translated really well to the silver screen.

While we're on the subject of DC animated films, in the next Green Lantern animated feature, Hal Jordan will be voiced by none other than...Nathan Fillion.
