So I just got fired.

I got fired from a job when I was 19(in 1996). I would stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning getting drunk and stoned, then get up at 5 to go to work. I would always show up late, and eventually I got axed. That was the one and only time I got fired.
Man, screw early hours. If you had to get up at like 7 i'm sure everything would have been better for you.

By the way, what was your job? Since "developers" are involved, it sounds like a salary job? It's not as if you're starting from square 1.

My job I have now starts at 4 in the afternoon to 2:30 in the morning. Four 10-hour days, with Saturday, Sunday and Monday off.

So no more getting up early. :)

Fired? Not laid-off? Wow, what did you do? :P

They didn't really tell me.

Bullshit. They have to give you a reason. I think you just don't want to tell us what you did.

Depending on where you live, they may not have to tell you. If you live in a "At-Will Employment" state in the US, they can fire you for no reason if they feel like it.

Damn, what are you doing?
Sounds like the type of work i want to do.

I load trucks in a warehouse. I've been there 10 years, and make $20 an hour. Which is about the best I'll ever do since I didn't go to college.

Hey, I know plenty of people who went to college and make $20/hr too. My older brother does car reposession and he cleans up when you look at his hourly.

Full time teaching, students with autism, with night school and a thesis coming soon.

yeah....I don't have time anymore to write as much as I did.

Have you thought about just getting a part time job as a teacher's aide for working with kids with autism,r becoming a part time job as a therapist that does one on one with children with autism to get experience? That's actually what I'm currently doing in addition to a retail job.

I worked three years as a sub and it wasn't fulfilling. As for the therapy track I need a grad degree in psych and EDU for it. Which is going against my current master degree in history.

If it make you feel better Diesel, my uncle has worked the same job for 40 years and is the most miserable basterd on the planet.

You do anything for too long and it gets to you, unless you're a rock star... but even rock stars get into heavy drugs and OD or become a has-been. So yeah, I guess I stand by my original statement.

It's good to try new things, just stay optimistic.

I used to make the food for the customers, but now I'm the maintenance guy and come in at 9 at night and leave around 6 or 7 in the morning. For a good 4 hours I'm there by myself. It's awesome as hell since our McDonald's is next to a cemetery.

The only thing I dislike is getting burnt by the oil whenever I filter and clean the fryers.

I stock fruit. Simple as that. get Good health insurance and pay for it as well.

Links, what is your thesis going to be on? I'm stuck between the chernobyl NPP incident or lead poisoning in ancient times.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm actually writing up a little something-something about it. Hopefully it'll hit Vox Pop one of these days. =)
