Hey guys, a bit of shameless promotion here, but it's not for me, it's for a friend of mine. He didn't ask me to do this, I just think he does wicked work.
A mate of mine is making a comic. I'm really proud that he's doing it and I really like it, so I thought I'd share it with you all. It's called "Astounding Tales of Super Hero Fiction". Here's a quick snippet:
The story is about an Indigenous Australian journalist from the Northern Territory (our home state), Kyle Burton, who discovers his latent superpowers of energy manipulation. Thrown into the world of Australian superheroes, he takes up the code name "Zero-Point" from his estranged father. Like his father before him, Kyle takes up the never ending battle against injustice, making friends and enemies from the government and the Victorian superhero community. Zero-Point shortly discovers that the "right" choice and the "moral" choice don't always line up.
The art style has evolved over time. Originally, the author/artist Jonathan was using a more stencil style artwork, particularly with the backgrounds, but now has gone into a more cel shaded look with his characters with a painting style for the background. I much prefer his later style, but I'm glad to see Johno is taking risks and experimenting with different styles.
