Question:
What's the biggest challenge that you are currently faced with?
There's two challenges that I'm faced with at the moment and they're both a bit first world.
First challenge - My job. I'm tired of it and I want to try something new... but I'm afraid of trying to leave. I have been applying for a lot of media related jobs this year, but I've failed every time. In my current job, I can't go up any more in pay levels (and I'm not very high anyway). I fear if I don't leave, then five or ten years down the track, I could still be here, on the same pay grade. Since it's a government job too, it could potentially look bad on my resume.
Sometimes I wonder if I joined the wrong industry. I'm scared to try a new industry, because that means I'll have to try and get re-qualified in a different field, which means back to university, study etc. Then I'd have to find a damn job in said field too, which could be my current predicament all over again.
My second challenge - judo.
I'm honestly losing interest in judo. What was once a passion of mine and a source of fitness, learning and stress relief, has now become a source of anxiety and stress.
I won't lie, our judo club is having problems on the inside. I won't go into much detail, but we have two coaches... one is older and is "old school", the other is younger and is "new school". Both of which are clashing with one another and it's been going on for over twelve months. The older coach refuses to try new things and listen to new ideas, instead, is intensely sticking to what they know and want to do, no compromise, no change.
I was trying to stay out of it, but I'm caught in the middle. I was trying to be as unbiased as possible... the older coach is my coach, the younger coach is one of my best mates. Now, I'm leaning towards the younger coach, because I believe that they're right, things need to change, but they won't. I also got pissed off and argued with the older coach over the phone, because while I was off work sick, he decides to ring me up, and tried to complain to me about the younger coach, resulting in a twenty minute argument. I've had enough. I can't have a normal conversation with him anymore without him complaining or/and criticizing something or/and someone... which is what I've told him and he didn't take it too well.
Okay, that was way too long. Sorry about that.
My question:
If you could meet a particular celebrity with a particular set of skills that they are known for (for example, Gordon Ramsay for his cooking, or Bear Grylls for his survival expertise) and learn from them, for free, who would it be and what skill(s) would you want to learn, and why?
