I would rather be blind. Have you ever tried to be normal for a day with earplugs? It's almost impossible.
Humans rely on sound more than sight for their main sensory information, FYI.

I'd say deaf. I'm really weird in the sense I don't like music the same way other people do.
I have favorite movies instead of favorite bands.... And I don't like listening to people talk. I was always the kid who wouldn't get a thing out of class but go home and read the book to learn the lesson.

For sure, way easier to get laid if you are deaf instead of blind.

And Madster, you are an idiot. I have an uncle who went blind at the age of 34 and he is now essentially confined to his house listening to TV unless there is someone there to take him out into public and guide his every step. I'm pretty sure he would give up his hearing to have his sight back.

Yeah, life would be harder to live. But he could essentially go out providing he has a guide dog. Not to help him cross the street or anything, only to show weather he would trip over the ground.


try this, for example;

Grab an iPhone, PSP, Ds..whatever, something small that plays sound. Have it play something, and have a friend move it around your head while you have your eyes closed. You can still tell 100% where the iphone/psp whatever is, yes?

Now grab some earplugs, and have your friend do the same thing out of your range of vision. Have him smack the iphone/psp in to the back of your head periodically, while you try to dodge.
You failed that one, yeah?

Honestly, i would rather rely upon my sound sense than sight for everyday life, especially seeing as how your hearing sharpens considerably when it has to compensate for other senses.

Actually, as someone that went to middle/high school with about 50 or deaf students (our school wasn't "special" we just hosted deaf students every year from 'round the world) you can't really sneak up on them like that. They are used to feeling for vibrations and such; and as hearing implants are what they are now adays, they could hear as well.

Our class was aksed this question in the 7th grade (by our teacher) and everyone in the room said they'd rather be deaf than blind, everyone but me. And I told her for the same sort of reasons mentioned here: for music, to hear my family.
Anyways, she was kinda taken aback that someone would pick going blind over going deaf, but then she fell into my category soon after I mentioned music. "Oh yeah, " I believe her words were. I guess she was a music lover, too.

Anyways, I guess music is a pretty powerful thing.
