Superman - People forget the fact that Silver Age Superman was by far the most ridiculously overpowered character ever. Like Destroying Wolverine and the Earth in one punch kinda overpowered.

Nova - Yes, the Joker is far more famous. But in Comic terms Nova saved the Universe last year. THE UNIVERSE.
Ghost Rider - This is tough, as both are effectively unstoppable and powered by demons. I say Ghost Rider because he is more intelligent than Cain.
X-Men - Speaking of Marvel characters I picked up Might Muggs Wolverine, Black Costume Spiderman and Ghost Rider.

aw poo. that's the old Thunderbolts team (read: terrible), but since they're faced up against the X-men, it wouldn't have mattered anyhow
