Risk of Rain

I've had it for, like, ten years and never once beat it.
But now I have.
...on Easy. But I'll count it, since it's a roguelike.

Forgot to add "Deadly Tower of Monsters" to the list. It's an extremely charming 3D platformer where you play the star role in a really cheesy movie presented in the form of a director's commentary track. There's not much of a challenge and you'll likely finish it within a week, but it's a must play for anyone who craves "Cheepnis."

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - 9 / 10

I finished Deus Ex: Mankind Divided last night for PS4.

Despite it's obvious flaws, I really enjoyed this game. I love the stealth, sneaking around, hacking into stuff etc. I managed to finish the game without killing anyone whatsoever, earning me the gold Pacifist trophy.

Combat is a bit hit and miss, as is the cover system and to be honest, it can be very easy to exploit enemies when it comes to stealth. I think some of the new augmentations, while cool and creative, are a complete waste of time to have and that you're better off spending praxis points on the classic skills. Without giving too much away, the ending was a little disappointing... not so much the ending itself, but how they told it.

Mankind Divided is essentially the same as Human Revolution, except better. I'm not gonna complain anymore because I really enjoyed it.

9 out of 10.

Been ages since I played it, but rocked the Enforcer and the cheap Huntress.

Huntress is definitely too easy to play.

I've beaten it so far as Bandit, Huntress, and Loader. Loader was the most fun by far.

Resident Evil 4 - 8 / 10

I just finished Resident Evil 4 for the PS4. It's one of my favourite games, certainly in the top ten. I played the shit out of it on the Game Cube and then I played even more of the said shit on the Wii version. With the PS4 version, not as much shit was played, so to speak.

I still enjoyed it, but after playing the Wii version, I've realised just how much better the Wii control scheme was for RE4 than the Game Cube or PS4 controllers are. Aiming with the Wii version is almost like cheating... you are so much faster and so much more precise, it's so much more fun.

Graphically it still looks okay, but it's certainly shown its age over the last ten years. It's amazing how when RE4 first came out, it was so cutting edge and so "realistic" at the time. Now, every gaping flaw and imperfection sticks out like a Uwe Boll film. As awesome as the game play was back in the day, it's just not that great anymore. The story is still as dumb as ever, but it's enjoyable. I swear the writing and voice actinghas gotten worse, despite being the same.

I'll score the game how I played it on the three consoles.

Game Cube -
9 / 10
Wii - 9.5 / 10
PS4 - 8 / 10

I just finished deus ex mankind divided. Was a great ride. But fuck what an abrupt ending, i didnt expect it to be the end of the game. A bit of a let down to be honest. Plus overall its shorter than human revolution, with only the city of Prague as a hub.

Bit dissapointed to be honest! Was loving the game as well.

Without spoiling anything, I think the ending was okay, it was just poorly told. They could have conducted the ending a lot better.

As for Prague being the central hub and the only really explorable place... I kinda agree, there.

Mankind Divided was an awesome game but it was unfortunately a bit disappointing.

Yeah, it honestly just felt like a standard mission.

Only one boss fight in the whole game too. And it was pretty lame.

I also finished Inside, the Playdead game. Was great! Better than Limbo, although was rather odd at the end!

I agree. One boss fight in the entire game, that was kinda lame. I actually felt very cheap about that boss fight, essentially hiding in the vents the entire time and even defeating the boss by non-lethal means.

^ Yeah, I did the same, hacked security terminals and switched everything to friendly fire!

Played and finished Episode 2 of Batman: The Telltale Series on the weekend. It was pretty good, finished it in a few hours. It felt shorter than Episode 1 and I experienced a game crashing bug at the very beginning of the game, as soon as I took control of Bruce Wayne.

I like the story, it's only gotten better from Episode 1, Realm of Shadows. I'm really looking forward to Episode 3. That being said, maybe I should have waited for all five episodes to come out at once, rather than getting them one by one. Still looking forward to the next episode, though. Story's just getting better and better.

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Edition - 8 / 10

My partner and I just finished our first run together in Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. I played as a Crusader, my partner played as a Monk.

We ended up finishing the game on Master difficulty. For the most part, it was too easy... I swear our game must have been bugged. Both of our characters had over three million defense by the end of the game.

Act V was the most challenging. The final boss with Death actually had my partner die a couple of times. I managed to live. Glory to the Crusaders.

It was fun to play as a couch co-op game, but we both found the game got awfully repetitive and very "stop starty" due to always picking up new gear, adjusting skills etc. We probably won't play through it again any time soon.

I've had enough of Diablo III. :p I can't do it again.

Maybe we'll wait a while and then go through it again.
