That is pretty damn awesome. Its about perspective though. If you try and view it from another angle, the illusion is destroyed.

That's part of the artistic statement, IMO. Art is only beautiful if looked at in a certain way.

I'm pretty certain that is the opposite. There's no one proper way to look at things. You have to open your mind and take everything in. Once you've established that, then can you make a judgement.

While yes, there are multiple ways to look at art, the fact that paintings and pictures are 2D forces the viewer to only view what they can see, which is why the pictures are taken at the angles they are

Uh, no. There are many paintings that pose the question of what is going on beyond frame, in order to better understand the image.
