|OT| Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

on a brighter note im part of the circle now! wooey.

took a break on the main quest like because i want to keep working on it through my experience. don't want it to end too quickly.

Me too! Last weekend I had someone's stupid birthday outing. This weekend is dedicated to Skyrim. Nothing but me, a gaming chair, pizza, whisky and Skyrim...beautiful.

omg im more excited now, it'll be like we're hanging out

for me itll be couch, (dunno all i know is im sick of pizza), beer, Skyrim

i got last sat night off randomly and people called me 2 minutes after i started playing and wanted to stop by. that lasted till 1am and i had to work at 8am the next day.

i had friends planning to come over this weekend but i already called it off. i might have my best buddy over, but with me and him its a company thing cause we're that comfortable. he'll play his own games and i'll play mine and we'll drink beer and eat food and give each other the occasional pat on the back for being so epic.

next weekend i have to host a stupid dinner for like 10 of my girlfriends friends because she's coming back from teachers college. so this weekend is my only option! it's gonna be grand.

So i got a question for you guys i just got done learning some new shouts from the greybeards and i was wondering where would be a good place to find some new weapons/armor?

Get a pickaxe, mine for ore, level your smithing, spend point in smithing during level up, make it yourself?

I'm above level 50 in smithing, I made myself a full set of Exquisite Elven Armor and weapons (2 Exquisite Elven Daggers with Soul Trap enchants, 1 Exquisite Elven Bow).

My current build focuses on:
Archery - Going for full, currently at level 45.
Light Armor - Going for full, currently a little over level 40.
One Handed - Going for dual wield specialization, skipping the rest, currently at 57.
Stealth - Going for full, currently at level 56.
Smithing - Going for level 100, skipping the heavy armor specializations. At the moment able to make scale armors.

I'm wondering though... Is there any light armor for Dragon Armor Smithing? Otherwise I'm gonna stop spending points on it.

My character is level 19 at the moment and doing well. Combat is hit and run, especially on the highest difficulty. However, once I get the chance to go for a stealth kill... OUCH!

Yeah, you can create both heavy and light dragon armor.

I decided to not be lazy and look it up on the TES Wiki, but thanks for the reply.
No Dragon Weapons though... I guess I'll be making a detour to spend points on Deadric crafting for the nifty Daedric Daggers.

Ugh... having to find Ebony Ore...

I hear ya Rain, I hear ya.

I just found one of the best characters in the whole series - it was a pleasant surprise! I'll just mention it was in Solitude and I reckon some of you will know what I'm talking about. If I mention Oblivion DLC as well then you'll definately know who it is! Kept the text white because you may want to find out for yourself the pleasant surprise I'm on about.
Weird weapon in return too - loved it!

well got my smithing from 34 to 93 today.. had to call it there though, ill get 100 and bust out some dragon armor tomorrow.

dragon armor better look badass, cause daedric armory looks incredible and its hard for me to hold off making some.

it sucked me back in for an extra hour xD

100 black smith. i now have full dragon heavy armor, daedric war axe, daedric bow, all legendary. have 13% 1 hander damage on both boots and gloves, 13% more blocked damage on shield.

feels good man.. too much Skyrim today. might do something tomorrow then start skyrim up hungover sat morning.

next thing to max is archery

All weekend i'm busy with my damn ol lady. The one weekend she has off and it's the weekend I got Skyrim. Plus she wants me to take her to go see that damn twilight movie. So the entire time i'm going to be thinking of slaughtering them as my nord and his echantic ax. It's gonna be hard cause I got space marine from gamefly, and WWE12 comes out in 4 days. I'm gonna go into complete overload.

I hate to break it to you Rain, but the bonuses you get from Heavy Dragon armor are less beneficial than the ones you get from Heavy Daedric Armor. Mainly because of the perks you can gain when speccing Heavy Armor. Don't know if this was an oversight on the dev's side, or intentional.
It appears that Light Dragon Armor is the best in the game in its class.

I leveled my Archery and one handed last night. Got the Dual Wield perk at max. I wonder if the Power Stance would do anything extra for my dual dagger wielding Dunmer.
Hit a sleeping dragon three times from behind, for 15.0x damage each time. Yes, I killed a dragon with daggers by poking it three times.
Keep in mind that I have trouble kiling Snow Bears in a straight up fight.

^ Haha I think I know the dragon you're on about. I realised too late and I woke him up though :(

Killed the sucka none-the-less of course.

Well, first I thought to be brave and kill it with arrows, as I was standing high up on the cliff it was sleeping under. Of course, the 3x damage bonus didn't really damage him in any big way, so he woke up and flew upwards. As I was between a rock (said cliff) and a hard place (the dragon), I didn't have a whole lot of room to manuever, and the dragons' breath weapon finished me off before I could put 4 more arrows in it.

After the quick load I thought it be fun and try and stab my way through the dragon, hoping my sneaking was high enough.
Turns out, level 66 sneak actually is high enough to not wake a dragon. So I got a new shout power from the altar behind it, and looted a nearby chest. While I was at it, I drank some coffee, did the laundry, did a little dance and made some weird faces.

After walking a circle around the beast and flicking a booger in its face, I decided to stab it, HARD, from behind. Because that is how rogues like it.

As I was dual wielding two nice self made daggers, I did a power attack-ish move, hitting the dragon three times in quick succession. Turns out dragons have a hard time waking up, so all three hits were considered sneak/backstabs, hitting for 15x the normal damage.
Before I was able to crap my pants and hide behind a rock, the dragon went limp as I finished thrusting it hard with my dag...

Ok, getting mildly disturbing now.

Anyway, I killed it, Looted it, finished exploring a nearby broken tower, went back to town, claimed my reward, unlocked a new shout and decided to pay the fine folks at High Hrothgar a visit for the first time.

Which was a long trek, along which I got killed because of a Snow Bear.

I killed a Dragon no sweat, but I can't handle a goddamn bear.

Funny thing is, the city where I got the bounty for the dragon never reported a much harder to fight dragon hanging around nearby (a green Blood Dragon), which was much harder to kill. I managed to kite it back to town, where the guards helped out with killing it. Pretty nice and all, but still a bit weird that they didn't want help with the more immediate threat. Are dragons randomly distributed/spawned across the land?

Yeah i totally had that problem earlier. Killed 2 dragons, got taken out in like 3 hits by a bear.

Yeah, and the amount of them varies on how far through the main storyline you are.

No wonder I haven't seen many. After the intro I immediately tried to find out how to join the mages guild (college), completed that questline all the way through, now I'm working on thieve's guild and dark brotherhood. Prob won't see some dragons for a while.

I read all about the dragon and daedric armor beforehand but the difference is very small, dragon is lighter, llooks cooler, and crafting daedric is an enormous pain in the ass. I had all the mats on me the second it was unlocked. Whereas the daedric would take a day+ itself to farm.

It makes total sense, it takes an extra 10 points to craft an armor almost is good that you will have the mats for already. Ill probably just get daedric overtime as I come across mats and have more gold than I know what to do with.
