The song thread

The Rapture- Whoo! Alright Yeah...Uh huh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLKaZViBz6M
People don't dance no more! (WHAT) They just stand there like this! (UH HUH) They cross their arms and stare you down and drink and moan and piss! (THAT'S RIGHT)

My Morning Jacket-Run Thru

Mournful, bluesy rock and roll, until you get to the solo at 2:27, where it becomes akin to a rhinoceros stampede.

LCD Soundsystem-All My Friends

James Murphy takes a two chords and seven minutes and puts a lifetime of wild nights and quiet mornings into my favorite song of the last ten years.

Santigold-I'm A Lady

You don't have to be a lady to enjoy this tune. Its the best song that Kim Deal (the bassist and coolest member of the Pixies) never wrote.

Yo keepit, no fewer than three of your bands played at this years PItchfork Music Festival, and I saw no fewer than two of 'em :)

You went to Pitchfork Music Festival? Jealous. Who'd you see?

Oh also, have you heard LCD Soundsystem's new EP? I thought All My Friends was an incredible song... then I heard Dance Yrself Clean.

Ya dood. I saw Modest Mouse, Titus Andronicus (liked em a lot), WHY?, LCD Soundsystem (2nd time this summer!) Washed Out, Beach House, Surfer Blood (saw the singer from Titus Andronicus rocking out to them in the back of the crowd), Neon Indian (liked em a lot too), Sleigh Bells (had numerous technical difficulties), and Pavement.

The new LCD Soundsystem is awesome. It's my pick for album of the year so far (but this is coming from someone who doesn't stay very up to date with current releases). I don't think its quite as good as Sound of Silver, but maybe that's because I haven't listened to it on repeat 1,000x yet (like I did with Sound of Silver).
