Do you guys think leveling by guides (I have Joanas) or grinding is faster? I want to get to 60 and start doing the actual BC stuff and get the part I've already done over with.

follow the guide, im sure they cover all the important shit to level most efficiently. grinding alone can become extremely slow.

Questing efficiently is better.. but if you don't have a perfect plan to questing, grinding for the win.

I grinded to 60 on my mage... beat everyone else who was questing because they were unorganized. From 60-70 however is a different story. So many quests it doesnt matter where you are, or what you're doing, you're usually somehow doing a quest..

yea as far as 60-70 in Outlands is concerned, you're forced to rely on quests.

It's just not efficient at all to grind as it goes painfully slow. And like intotherain says, theres a shit-load... I'm 64 and have done just about everything I could find in hellfire, and most of the 2nd zone but am no where near finishing all Terokkar Forest has to offer.

Got the expansion a few days ago and I am finding it decent. Been levelling a Draenei shaman because I dont have any characters over level 30 and I am really liking the quests. But the repetitive "Quest, kill, loot" formula is still there so I can see myself quitting the game once again once I hit level 30 because of boredom.

The Outland quests are slightly better. I don't know..It's still the same but it just feels better. More of a story behind them. And once you get to 60, don't forget you can start instancing. 58 is when you hit outland. I'm leveling slow as hell for being a raider. I've played for three or four days now and I'm still 60. So by the time you catch up if you ever do, I can instance with you maybe. If not, I'll still take my time out to help you.

Grinding with a mage is way easier than grinding with any other class. Mage AoE makes grinding a joke, and then they have infinite mana/health regen from conjured food and water. Every other class, though, is much better off questing. Remember that most quests require you to kill loads of mobs anyway, which is exactly what you'd do if you were grinding. Plus, you get better gear and more gold from questing, which makes levelling easier.

just hit 69. my mage got bout 6000hp/9000mana, +500 spell dmg and 24.5% crit chance. things are going nicely, aside from the fact my guild threw me out until I hit 70 and get keyed for karazhan. :(

.

I don't get the point of guilds doing that :?

lol, what a lame guild...

anyway, my mage has long been 70, we server firsted, and seconded the final boss in arcatraz...

My mage is FULL frost spec, critting 3200 frostbolts now, i switched to 40/21 Arc/Frost for about 5 minutes, sure the 4500 crit frostbolts were refreshing when I could use AP once every 5 minutes, but it's just not consistent, so i went back to 2/59.

Sitting at about 9500 mana at full frost, arc/frost was over 11000. hehe... my spell damage has topped 800, 920 when using my trinket, and crit is sitting around 17%. Yea, I'm addicted :( Thsi game is uber...

Kara starts Sunday

AoE is overrated. Especially when there aren't any decent mobs to AOE down.. WoW vanilla had WPL, Dalson's Tear to AoE, which was ok. But still... You kill 6-8 guys, sit down, and regen mana because it's all gone. Whereas you really could near kill the same amount in that much time.

Rogues, Locks, even a Pally friend of mine could grind VERY fast, I dunno how he did it.. They just never need to rest though, mages do. Same with rogues... Mages need to take a 30 second break in between fights, whereas some classes just keep going and going and going. The only class that grinding wasn't faster than questing in WoW Vanilla is of course, the Warrior. Poor Warriors...

I almost take that back to.. a full fury DPS warrior could probably still level you faster grinding... the quests in WoW non Xpac were just too spread out, too much running back and forth from place to place.. whereas in outlands every step you take you're starting another quest.
