Help me pick out a game for my father

If he likes Medal of Honor, I'd suggest Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault. It's alot like Allied Assault only with updated graphics and a different setting. Plus, it's pretty cheap. I got the Director's Cut DVD edition at Target for only 8 dollars.

look into the Serious Sam games. MOH:pA also sounds good....

not sure if he'd dig Halo because the port still feels very much like a console shooter.

serious sam 2 is kinda boring after a while, its pretty stupid tho.

i think an fps that might be good, fear? how about prey? i think its short game time tho, like 8 hrs worth and ur done, so maybe not?

hmm, how about oblivion, its an fps rpg?

if all else fails, give him wow, im sure he'll be hooked.

Okay, here's what I'm thinking:
Doom 3, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood & Far Cry (which I found in the cheap pile at Wal-Mart for $8).

Definetly get Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood. Especially if your dad is at all a history or war buff. The game does a geat job of capturing the history of the battle as well as the spirit of all of the characters. Just a really beautifully presented game, much like a good war movie.

Gameplay wise, the cover/supression system is diificult and rewarding. A big change of pace from the run around and shoot FPSs.

It's pretty cool that your dad plays games, by the way.
