My dog (Tippy) had to be put down today. She's been pretty sick for a year now, and 4 visits to the vet, including one specialist in Toronto, have confirmed there's nothing that can be done. It's some type of lung infection in addition to a tumor, she's been constantly gagging and spitting up, but the last month there's been a fair bit of blood in the pools she's been leaving behind
I've had several dogs, but this one was by far the best. Got her as a rescue dog, she was horribly malnourished when we got her, and very untrusting of people, we assume she was abused. The choker that was on her, you couldn't fit fit a finger between the chain and her neck. I cut it off as soon as we had her in the house and she was happier than a pig in shit.
She still wanted nothing to do with the family for about a year but finally started coming around. Now after 5 years her quality of life has dropped off the charts, she can't go on runs anymore without limping, she can barely breath, just sucks is all.
