I'm not gonna lie, I don't trust anyone who uses emulators.

Hate all you want, noob. I'm fucking pro. 8)

Without practice time either, bro!

Wing Fortress zone....what a gunch

Metropolis gave me a lot of trouble as usual. Those fucking crabs and mantis guys. I hate them with a passion.

Metropolis is made to make you angry. I can't tell you the number of times I've had a whole bunch of rings, only to be hit by a starfish or mantis or crab that I CANNOT DODGE and lose them all.

Still, good job MattAY.

I never owned a Genesis, and I haven't played Sonic 2 since it was released. My cousin had one...

But none of that matters because, in case you didn't know,

I'm a platformer beast!

Same rules as before for me. No practice, one play and done. I just downloaded the emulator and game today. Googled "sonic 2 controls" and mapped my buttons onto my Saitek P990.

Got to Metal Sonic with x6 lives. He destroyed me.
I never really played the Sonic series so I didn't know any of enemy patterns or any enemy animations... so, yeah, I'm very impressed with myself.

The only things I remember about playing Sonic back in the day were the Casino stage and the air bubbles underneath the water.

The whole time I thought Longo's score was 256something. I could only get 3 chaos emeralds.

So I don't know what to say, man. I'm using an emulator, but I'm not cheating aka step your game up - Marcus PSP.

Right, well I went through again, scoring almost 100,000 points on the first two levels alone. I had already tied my previous score by the end of Casino Night. Unfortunately, I hit one dead end after another and didn't end up with as many points as I could've.

But here we go anyway:
sonic2.jpg

I made it to the Death Egg with 14 lives, and died to Robotnik my first attempt. I didn't die to Metal Sonic once.

As you can see, I beat Robotnik flawlessly on my second life.

Sadly, though, I could only get two Chaos Emeralds.

Oh, and don't think I have some sort of unfair advantage here because I've been playing it longer. This is only my third time through the game EVER, and I didn't get it until a few months ago. So, yeah. All skill baby.

Ouch. My heart hurts.

You're probably thinking, "why does he own a copy of Sonic 2 for Xbox Live Arcade if he never plays Sonic and obviously sucks at it?" I'm wondering the same. Musta been on sale or something.

Aw, keep it up Used. The more you do it, the better you'll get.

Hell, I died tons of times on that same part. It just takes a bit of practice and you'll be clearing it all in no time.

You guys just took it up a major notch. I'm not even gonna attempt that score.

"HI. iM' UGHROCHESTER. AS YOU KNOW, GAMEREVOLUTION DOT COM HAS MANY FORUMS..."

 +1 unintentionally hilarious intro. It was your booming man voice.

but playing an NES through your PSP on your tv is a pretty nice setup. can't fault you there.

My one play and done / no practice method has proven to be a winner. And even though it looks like a complicated game, I'm gonna google Alien Soldier and give it a whirl.

edit:
reporting in with the worst score ever in the history of Alien Soldier (no options, no nothing)

the time spent sitting through the introduction story - which is complete fuckery btw - lasted longer than my game
WTF Matt!

First time playing it, the controls did me in. But that's no excuse! Someone beat this score now!

Haha! Sorry brudda! The story is stupidly complicated too, for when the game is just simply an alien dude kicking everyone's ass.
If memory serves, use the teleport (down + c I think). It's a lifesaver. Learn how to do that in the training room thingy before strating your run-through! That's my tip. I'm willing to give you another go Chris!

Day off work tomorrow, so I'm on it then (beddy bies now -.- zZZ)

Love what I did with my PSP, also the internal screen broke so I switched it with my other PSP that broke...unfortunately, there's a clip that holds the ribbon wire now and I sadly broke it...Thankfully duct tape works. Yes there is duct tape in my PSP.
