Love him, hate him. But I can't argue his impact on the pop culture of my youth. Too bad he couldn't handle success, I guess.

Growing up, when we were running to the car after school to head home. Someone would always yell, "shotgun" which would be countered by "Cobain" as in, right behind shotgun.

"nothing on top, but a bucket and a mop and an illustrated book about birds"

Best thing to come out of Nirvana is still Dave Grohl though.

^Oh yeah I remember the lawsuits against Activision for Kurt Cobain singing songs such as "Ring of Fire." Which leads me to agree with LinksOcarina.

He looked so happy in that last video when he asked us to play that funky music. Maybe he was made for disco all along!

I can remember listening to In Utero as a young teen and having my mom go "OMG, is he screaming Rape Me? How disgusting!"
To which I replied "no mom he's saying Rabies; RA-BIES! RA-BIES!"
Then she'd go "oh ok."

I was in grade 4 when he died, but Nirvana was still a big influence in middle school and high school along with the other rock bands of the 90's. I think it's safe to say they've stood the test of time. I also used to listen to Limp Bizkit back when they were big. I can't stand Limp Bizkit today, but I'll still go back to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Rage, Alice in Chains and Radiohead.

TL:DR? Read this...
Jared Leto really wants to play Kurt Cobain for the upcoming movie about hsi life, does he pull it off?

Yup, don't do heroin kids. And if you just wanna try it first go watch Requiem for a Dream then get back to me on that.

An old friend of mine, who I've known since I was like 6 or 7, died from a heroin overdose. So it's one of the drugs that really pisses me off.
