What are ya playing?

Betas are rough because you want to give people a taste without giving it all away for free. That being said. I want to mod my guns and pinpoint enemies like a battlefield game.

Been playing the Star Wars: Battlefront beta, even had a couple of games with fellow GRian, UghRochester!

The game is gorgeous, wonderful presentation. The textures, lighting and smooth 60 FPS are excellent and the sound effects and music are amazing, classic Star Wars. I kinda wish the music would always be playing, though.

Feels good control-wise. Out of the two levels you get, the first, smaller level is kinda boring and makes the game feel like a Star Wars version of Call of Duty. It's pretty much just capture the flag. The Battle of Hoth level is a lot of fun, but it's extremely one sided and very challenging for the Rebels. I found when playing as the Empire, I would score a tremendous amount of kills due to jumping on board an AT-ST or AT-AT.

One thing I think is kinda dumb, is that the AT-AT's are completely untouchable until you bomb 'em with the Y-Wings. This means that snow speeders can't even use the tow cables on them until they've been bombed.

I managed to finish off one AT-AT by flying an A-Wing straight into it. As I charged toward the AT-AT, I looked over at my girlfriend who was watching me play and I screamed, "WITNESS MEEEEEE!"

Good times.

So I ignored all advice and got Super Meat Boy with PS Plus.

....

GRRHAGAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!

That is all.

Playing Star Wars: Battlefront beta last night. Stupid scenario.

Battle of Hoth. I get into a snow speeder. The AT-AT's shields are down. I go in and start swinging around the AT-AT with my tow cable. I'm gonna bring this son'o'bitch down.

Then, out of nowhere, another Rebel snow speeder flies right into me, bouncing off me and propelling me right into the AT-AT where I met my demise, followed by the AT-AT player receiving a "kill".

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

hahaha Yessss! Yessss! Give in to your anger, young Jedis! (or is Jedi also plural?) See, we need to keep George around to provide these kinds of explanations that Disney will just louse up.

I started playing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen yesterday to satisfy my "Daily Ting" and wow! What an awesome game! I see it as a bit of a cross between Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls, but it certainly stands out on its own.

I can climb on top of huge enemies and hack away at their upper limbs and heads?! I am absolutely loving it so far. How did this game not garner more attention?!

It came out right after Skyrim and Dark Souls and was shadowed by them, and then when Dark Arisen came out it didn't get noticed. But it's one of my favorites for sure.

Also, every single vocation is amazingly powerful and fun to play as, except Mage. Mage sucks.

I recommend FIghter, Strider, Warrior, to Assassin for your first playthrough (switch vocations once you max them out so that you can get the good perks) and then do Strider to Sorcerer to Magic Archer/Mystic Knight the second time you play.

What console are you playing on? If you are playing on PS3 I'll summon your pawn!

I was playing viewer submitted courses in Super Mario Maker. This guy sent me this to troll me, but I spent a half hour on and pretty much said f*ck it.

Oh yeah, my Super Mario costume was at my mom's. So I wore on the stream.

EDIT: A viewer named "punderscore" made me the overlay. He even donates to my stream. Which is awesome, because I made $10 doing what I enjoy.

I downloaded the GCPD Lock Down DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight. For those who don't know, the DLC briefly picks up after the main story of Arkham Knight, putting players in the boots of Dick Grayson, AKA Nightwing. The basic plot of GCPD Lockdown is that Penguin is trying to break out of GCPD and Nightwing comes along to stop him. That's it.

I finished the DLC in about twenty minutes. It was a little bit longer than the Red Hood DLC but ultimately, it was very disappointing.

On the plus side, Nightwing has great dialogue and he exchanges a lot of funny stuff with Lucius Fox via radio, but that's about it. There isn't much story to it at all, it barely follows up on the ending to Arkham Knight. The DLC contains three elements to it. The first is a straight up fight, followed by a stealth/predator section. At first the predator area is quite daunting but it's actually really easy. I haven't played Arkham Knight in a long while but I quickly picked it back up.

The final element of the DLC is another fight, but this fight is actually quite tough and I did die a few times. Once you're done, that's it. Seriously, when the DLC is over you will be asking yourself, "Is that it?"

So far the best piece of DLC that's been released is the Batgirl DLC. The Nightwing DLC, while cheaper than the Batgirl DLC, just isn't very good. I'm very disappointed with Rocksteady on this one and I feel very sorry for those who went ahead and bought the ridiculously priced season pass. Considering all the DLC that's been released so far has been very short character play throughs and a bunch of skins? Well... no wonder people are pissed.

Why, yes, I am playing on PS3! I will summon your pawn as well! I chose the Fighter class for my main character; Strider class for my pawn. I almost got my ass kicked while trudging through a water well in Cassardis. I managed to make it out ok, though.

Craig, I'm glad I didn't buy the Season Pass also. I've made that mistake a few times, and I'm sure I'll make it again, but I didn't with Arkham Knight.

While the skins are neat for a comic fan like myself, using them during the Story mode sort of takes me out of it.

Consider me pissed. I traded games in and could've bought a full game. The only content I seem to appreciate are MP map packs lately. Mass Effect had some decent DLC, but I'm blanking on other worthwhile DLC.

I'm waiting for an all inclusive Mass Effect remastered holy grail. I did pick up the trilogy on PS3 for a whopping $15, but that is all without DLC.

Yeah, I agree.

The skins are kinda cool, but they're honestly not worth the price. Considering the universe the game is set in, the skins don't really fit and while they look cool, they feel out of place when you play in them.

I've only bought one season pass in my life and honestly it wasn't worth it. I bought a season pass for $30 AUD for Batman: Arkham Origins. All I got out of it was some skins (the Robin skins essentially un-useable since no one played online), a challenge map pack and then the Mr. Freeze "Cold, Cold Heart" story DLC... all of which did not add up to be $30 or more.

So... I was probably better off buying it all separately, and I fear the same thing is going to happen with Arkham Knight and their $60 AUD season pass.

Don't summon my pawn until your my level. Just so it doesn't gimp your experience points.

Then I have a long way to go! In the meantime, I summoned a random pawn that was just below my current level. Could I summon you when I am within range or should I just wait until I'm the exact same level?

Might as well do it when you're about that level. It's more just don't summon high level pawns when you're low level.

Gotcha! By the way, have you seen they've turned it into an MMO? It has already been released in Japan. I'm a bit disappointed and skeptical. Hopefully it's not a huge departure from what I'm currently playing.
