So for those not in the know, which is most likely all of you (because the mods sure as hell aren't going to inform anybody) Christopher Wallace Criminology, or as you all know him, Chris Crime, has been banned from GR. Quite possibly forever.

And why? Was he posting any pornography? Maybe a thread about being involved in a gangbang? Why no, he just pushed Lethean's buttons and the powers that be decided someone who's been around here for over 10 years doesn't deserve to let off some steam so they banned his ass.

So how did this all begin you ask? Well BBK was going on about some gangbang he was involved in. And the rest of GR, except maybe Ugh and Madster, knew that BBK was most likely full of himself. So I decided to have fun with this since nothing else was really going on in GR and made a thread poking fun at BBK. A mod (probably Longo) had lost his sense of humour and deleted the thread I made. So after feeling confused and wondering what was so wrong about poking fun at someone who was breaking the rules on GR, I could only come up with one solution; power trip!

Chris Crime caught wind and decided to poke fun at Lethean some more. Not sure if he knew that it was Longo who deleted my thread but we've both always been firmly against mods who get a little power hungry and delete threads simply because they don't agree with it. Are the mods a democracy? Or do they all just follow Longo's word?

Longo, who told us all that Lethean was the Wonder Woman of Covert Ops now has a problem with someone else poking fun at him. Feels more like a Do as I say, not as I do :roll:

So Chris made a humorous thread about Lethean and I used it to also make fun of BBK But oh no! We can't have that now, can we? So it was deleted. Chris retaliated by posting the thread again and it was deleted, and so on and so on. Finally he was banned.

Chris was blowing off some steam and when you try to shut someone up who is venting they're obviously going to get upset and continue to post what they want. Chris and I have always been on the edge with the powers that be, but lately I thought things were at a calm stand still. The current group of mods "understood" that we're not out to bring down GR, just the opposite, we like to liven it up. We don't post idiotic threads about being involved in gangbangs, we just joke around. Even if it does feel too cynical at times, it's still important to be able to laugh at yourself once in awhile. This is something that the likes of TNO could never understand. TNO, a man whose ego was too large to fit inside the internets and micro-managed the forum and even his fellow moderators. I thought those days were long gone...

Even if you disagree with his actions, does Chris honestly deserve to be perma-banned from GR just for making Lethean cry into his MMA gloves and for questioning Longo's ego? Chris has been a staple at GR longer than most of you, longer than most of our current mods. He's won a plethora of GR awards in the past and I've enjoyed having his company on this site through the good times and the bad. He caused a bit of stress for the mods but so what? Haven't we all at some point? You can't expect everyone to be as perfect as Lethean or Longo. Yes we know guys, everyone else is wrong and you are always right.

GR is a family, and Chris is as much a part of our family as any of you!

You're right BlackStar. Chris has been here for 10 years, and as such he is really expected to know the rules of this place.

Before we go any further, let's clarify exactly what was happening.

Chris posted a copy-pasted message that was a borderline attack on Lethean not once, not twice, but around forty times. He posted this message in new threads that he created as well as preexisting threads that were unrelated. He posted this in every available forum, including Nintendo/Sony/General etc.

Chris was warned twice that if he didn't stop then more severe actions would be taken. He ignored both warnings and continued to spam the message.

All things considered, we gave him a fairly large amount of leeway before the action was finally done.

When I informed him of his ban, he then proceeded to be very disrespectful towards me about it.

Now I like to think of the people on GR, on the whole, as a mature crowd. We're almost all adults, most of us have been here a long time, so I like to take a more "hands off" approach to moderating. In fact, I consider myself more of a user first and a moderator second. I don't like closing threads any more than other people like their threads to be closed, and on the whole we usually don't have much worth closing.

However, this doesn't mean that this is an adults-only site. This isn't a place where you can do whatever you want without there being consequences. But since we are all adults here, it's expected that every one of you knows this and respects this.

Now I like Chris. However, he has been here long enough to know better than to act in the way that he did. Honestly, more than anything, I'm disappointed that he acted so childishly over something so trivial, which ultimately forced my hand. Every person on here should never have a qualm about coming to one of the moderators or admins if they have a problem, even if it's with the moderator or admin themselves. This isn't a place of hostility where you'll be shouted down for voicing your thoughts. That does not, however, mean that you can spam up the boards with an aggressive message. If Chris had been more respectful, this never would have occurred.

This was not an act of power-tripping over a few little posts. This was a massive act of misconduct that broke more than one forum rule and was borderline harassment of another user. This is unacceptable.

Chris Crime will not be unbanned at this point. We had not posted a thread informing people because the moderators have not yet come to a decision about the duration of this ban.

Now I stand by my actions completely, as do the other mods who witnessed the event, helped me clean up after, and saw the threads put into storage. If any of you have any problems with this, please come to me about it.

Chris is indeed a member of our GR family. However, the thread he dedicated to Lethean wasn't just a one time thing, it's been an escalating concern. We've all been very lenient about Chris' behaviour towards Lethean but what he did was the straw that broke the Camel's back. We're not talking about taking a couple shots at Lethean, we're talking about constant harassment.

I sent Chris a PM asking him to stop. I couldn't sit around on GR all day removing his threads so when I left Longo took over. Considering Chris didn't want to reason with us Longo made the right call in banning him.

Chris just went too far and Longo acted as he would towards anyone else who spammed the forum and refused to discuss things maturely via PM. He's been banned for now and the mods and I are discussing when and if the ban will be lifted. That's all you guys need to know. No need to start with the Nazi insults. It's not often that we ban someone on GR because we respect all of you guys, we just ask for the same respect back.

Which all could've been avoided if it was just left alone. But no, it had to be deleted, which meant it had to be deleted again and again.

Except I did leave it alone. And when I left it alone and didn't remove any of the threads, he proceeded to post more threads regardless.

And I'm fine with a joke. I'm fine with some light prodding and humor.

But there's a point when it stops being a joke and gets more into the turf of harassment. If you're spamming it over and over, again around forty times in multiple threads (including unrelated, preexisting threads) and forums, it crosses that line pretty clearly. It also breaks the whole rule about spamming, and again disregarded warnings and did not stop when he was asked to.

And for all the jokes made about Ugh, has anyone spammed the forums telling him that he should leave?

Now that I've had a chance to read both sides of the story, I would say that a banning was in order, but I'd say perma-ban is extreme.

In my opinion, were I in athoritity, I'd give Mr. Criminology a one month suspension that could be lessened to two weeks if he were to submit a no-less-than 500 word essay detailing the importance of limits and proper Internet forum behavior.

Kinda lame admittedly, but I think it'd be fair to all involved.

Lethean came home crying I hope you guys know. CRYING! Such bullying, poor guy. I had to cheer him up with a new pair of brown leather shoes.

All jokes aside, Mod-Chip basically posted an erotic novel involving detailed descriptions of the aftermath on a family site. A) It's so adult-based it's ridiculous, and B) I dont want to fucking know! Lethean closed it, and we all 100% agree it was due closure.

Chris then did his thing which Longo explained. He is banned. Now stop being sandy vaginas.

Ok, I agree with Longo and WickedLiquid. The constant spamming would be highly annoying and being warned several times, you would think Chris would stop. Like Longo, I like Chris as well. He was the only who kept voting me to be a moderator, which made me like him more...not in a sexual way. 8) Anyways, the banning of Chris Crime is a good decision. As long as he isn't banned forever, all is good. I feel as if it should be as long as madster's banned. I may have not been around long enough to personally know BBK (Mod-Chip I know him as), but Chris is a good guy that did ignorant decisions just now. Again, as long as his ban isn't forever, I'm okay with it.

As far as the jokes go about me, I'm the one that's been bringing the jokes. Whatcha talkin 'bout mang?:lol: I know I'm not a guy that can't communicate well, chances of getting laid again is very slim the most intelligent guy you've met, but man I'm bringing people to GR. I'm sure Daniel may tell you how many times I Tweet and post on Facebook about GR. If not, Jx4 does too.

BBK's gangbang story was so boring that I had to call it quits half through. Juicy details at the top next time man. I really didn't think it was in bad taste. I've read more horrifying things at a forum for teen girls.

Now, I missed all the crimes Chris made here and don't know exactly what the wrote, but Chris and Lethean has always had this special "20 years married and still together" relationship going on in here.

He's one of my favorite posters, so it would be a shame to see him go forever.

I've no doubt pissed Chris off and he has no doubt pissed me off. But he does have his place here, even if it is under my skin at times and his ban...Well lets just say it isn't like he'll never be back.

For the record no one was hurt over his threads and no one went crying to Longo. It's as it has been said - bbk got his thread closed, Chris spammed the hell out of the forums, directing his "rebellious" nature.towards me, he didn't stop so he was hit with the ban hammer. The content, to me anyways, is secondary to the near endless spam and refusal to stop. I wasn't even aware of what happened until much later in the day but whether it was directed towards me, Madster or that man with the lady hands Used, I'd stand by and agree with Longo's decision. Except Bret. That guy can do no wrong I swear.

There's cynical humour and then there's inappropriate,baseless rule breaking.

PS. This place is not ruled by an iron fist believe me. If anyone really thinks it is then you'd only be happy with an anarchist society I think .

Well clearly a ban was deserving for interrupting the serious posting that happens here...

If spamming is a ban worthy offense, NesMan should not only be banned, but flogged, and than hung, quartered, and finally his remains launched into the sun

If being offensive is also a ban worthy offense, me, longo, blackstar, stalfros.. well pretty much everyone short of Paradox and Lethean would be removed from this forum

It's not like I'm Crime's buddy, infact I'm sure he has a hatred of me (stemming from penis envy) but this is a bit much no? I'm just for the first time being informed of what transpired, so obviously it wasn't a massive deal

And in all honesty, having longo ban someone for being offensive is ridiculous, pot, kettle, black much?

Hell, Madster was banned for spamming, and brought back, and he went well out of his way to attack/annoy everyone. This is pretty retarded and smells like highschool drama, now lets all get some shovels to remove the sand from Longo's vag

Oh god I ridiculed Longo, I can feel the ban hammer coming, I'd pull an Anne Frank and hide in the closet, but Longo wont come out of it first
