I don't know what is causing it, but it seems like every time I browse an article here, I get music suddenly playing in the background very loudly until I mute the tab in my browser.
I had ads blocked before the site update, and it never seemed to matter. They'd pop up anyway. Haven't had much trouble since the update though, so unless your ad blocker is really different than mine, it's probably not an ad. Weird.
That sounds frustrating. It’s likely that one of the ads on the page is autoplaying audio or video without your permission. You can try using a browser extension like an ad blocker to stop these autoplaying ads, or adjust your browser’s site settings to block sound by default https://spotifepriumium.com/. Muting the tab works temporarily, but it’s worth checking for any sneaky media settings or extensions that might be causing this issue more regularly.
