Remember that infamous "Video Game Crash of 1983", like how E.T. supposedly "killed" video games? The truth is, it really wasn't a crash but a market shift. There were always arcades and it's also when the PC became cheap enough for the average consumers. The Commodore 64 was also still around at that time too.
