Started this topic because I am tired of getting on the internet and constantly looking at stupid stuff that does nothing but drop my IQ level. I hear enough stupid stuff at work every day, when I get home I need to do something to counteract that. So what are some websites that you guys visit on a regular that are a bit above the rest on the intellectual level? For me it would be:

    Physics Forums
When I was in Afghanistan, I learned a lot about quantum mechanics by reading books in my free time and when I sat guard duty. A bunch of random questions that popped into my head that I couldn't get answered can get answered by the smart people that visit those forums.

    Dresden Codak
It is a webcomic, but it usually has jokes that usually someone with an educated mind (or a flat out nerd)would get. I used to visit their forums as well but one day they just vanished without a trace.

This may not apply to what you're talking about, Frozen, but it's where I go to get my creativity flowing.

Holiday? Yeah, sure, lol. I deployed to helmand province for 10 months with the Marines to fight the war.

I post on this website as well. I'm not special, if I visit sites like this, maybe someone else does too.

My job is in signals intelligence, my unit is 3rd radio battalion. Unit that I directly supported (by that I mean, whenever I wasn't sitting pretty inside of base with my unit, doing analysis) was mostly 3rd reconnaissance battalion. Those guys were awesome, they almost always found a reason to blow something up and at the end of the day it was always ok because if we did any damage to an innocent (I use the term innocent loosely because there were many shades of grey) civilian's property, the US government would pay for it.

Its good for the people who when they think about something, everything they know is laid out infront of them in their mind.

I mean I'm guessing you've already heard of Fark? News links with sarcastic descriptions?

    If not, http://www.fark.com

Other than that, I can always get a kick out of the Surviving the World webcomic...

^ Sadly, that's how the URL used to be. Then it became gr.bolt.com, and now it's just gamerevolution.com. Oh, how this site has aged in 14 years...

    http://ocremix.org/

Great site if you wanna hear some awesome remixes of old game music.

    http://www.virtualnes.com/index.html

Good site to play some NES games without the authorities barging down your door.

    http://www.virtualgbx.com/

Sister site of Virtual Nes, doesn't have as many games, but it's pretty new so that problem should clear up in a while.

    http://www.hulu.com/

Good site to watch TV shows or movies, the content varies pretty often, but it's still pretty good.

    http://www.yoyogames.com/

A good site to play some game maker games (Program that...well...makes games) The content also varies pretty often, with a good portion of the games being absolute shit, but if you stick to the featured or the highest rated you should be fine. I go by the name of just Miak on the forums.

I don't think sites where you can play NES really fit the criteria, but cool links!
