    What are they?

Can't say I'm familiar with the ones for these two consoles as I am the Wii, so I'm curious what others think they are.

Because for all the graphics bashing the Wii takes, it seems as if it might be the one console helping 2D continue on and, somewhat, thrive. And, as a title such as Muramasa displays (or the success of Megaman 9), 2D still has plenty to offer. Correct if I'm wrong.

Dammit, I was about to say braid.
Well, there's Dishwasher: The Last Samurai on XBL which is a pretty fun but very tough hack-and-slash button-mashing bloodbath.
And then there's World of Goo, which.. I dunno if it's on consoles, but it's on PC, and it is very inventive and fun.
So 2D isn't necessarily dying out. It is slowly going because of technological advancements (i.e. 3D >.>) but there are still developers who make 2D games, and make them very well.
