Not really, no. They're like Link in that they just don't have a set name, but all of their actions are still theirs.

Link is link, no matter what appearance he is in. Just like the Player Characters are player characters in their own appearances in the games they are in. Both Persona 3 and 4 guys are separate player characters, and have separate storylines.
