The best part of Kotaku, is the community (at times) and the commenting system. It was actually fun to have complete discussions in the comments section, but the newest update is a mess. They've effectively killed it. What the fuck is Kinja?

They did that on Deadspin too. I've never been a commenter on any Gawker sites, but I did enjoy browsing the comments. Now I rarely even try.
