I'd like to first point out, this will do absolutely nothing to deter "children" from viewing material, there's how to guides on how to do anything on youtube, so I'm fairly certain there will either be a way around this established in the first week, or proxies will become commonplace. How they figure blocking smuthut.com will prevent pedophiles from accessing the content they do today, which is obviously not on the front page of google is beyond me.

Also how is this any different then say, a moderately intelligent parent enabling parental controls? Is this just so the inbreds don't have to take any action, the arduous task of clicking a button in your security panel?

What I love though, is how you have to shamefully dial up your ISP, and tell them you want porn enabled. There's a registry list that wont be looked up should you ever choose to enter a career in politics.

Really though, my only concern (because sexually frustrated Brits are more comedic then troublesome to me) is that this is the first step in breaking up the internet into channels, you got your adult, your streaming, your news, gaming, ect ect, all individually packaged and priced. Why should johnny mormon pay full price for the interwebs when he's not using the naughty side of things? Bam, porn access is now with a fee, due to "administration charges", and so it begins

The other concern, and a bit far stretched I admit, is that over the years the UK has been increasingly Muslim friendly. I don't mean, hey you're entitled to your religion and we respect that, I mean full neighborhoods have been seized by Sharia Law, which while not legally binding, they still run around harassing and forcing out anyone who doesn't fall under their belief system. All that's happened is a few arrests, which led to nowhere, because it's "wrong" to discriminate against Islam. Islam being very against porn lovers, well you get the picture but I'm sure eyebrows can take it from here and elaborate further

Up to 70% of files exchanged between Saudi teenagers' mobile phones contain pornography, according to a study in the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom.

The study quoted in Arab News focussed on the phones of teenagers detained by religious police for harassing girls.

Actually... Eisenhower allowed De Gaulle to enter allright. Just not the arabs and the black soldiers that made up the majority of the free french army. I get what you are saying, but I'm saying that christans and mormons would like to ban porn as much as muslims so I don't get why you'd just single out one group for having more influence about it than the others. It seems like one of the few things they'd all find themselves in agreement about.

And even if you call up your ISP and tell them to unblock porn, anything the govt. decides you shouldn't see is still blocked. One thing that's come up is rape porn, but you can bet any money anything else 'unwholesome' will be banned too. BDSM and Watersports comes to mind. And they're also going for the protect the children angle, so they might decide to go the fucking stupid Australian way of going 'A-cups? Lol, you're a child. CHILD PORN! banned'.

I'm not sure what you're alluding to, how is Canada lacking in freedom of speech? If you're referring to the section of the Charter that allows the government to prevent hate speech, that's kind of silly, given that it has to first be acted upon by request of a government official, then before any trial on the matter it has to pass a vote in the house of commons, and then that has to be given the ok by a judge, you make it sound like the SS can march in and arrest anyone for saying something against the state, it's a fairly complex process it has to go through and if you'd like to cite a time it was "unjustly" used I'm all ears
