Alright, with the exception of GT (2) and Fatal Frame 2 (4)...every game in the tourney has been in 3 matches. I can't figure out how to transfer the standings from excel to freewebs, so if anyone wants the standings...email me at [email protected] and i'll send you a weekly newsletter or something.
Random musings so far:
-Metal Gear Solid leads all games in total votes for, with 28. Plus, it's tied for 7th in points against, with only 6.
-Goldeneye has faced two ranked opponents, and is still 3-0, still 2nd in the league with 27 votes for, and 8 votes against.
-Final Fantasy VII has had only 3 votes cast against it so far, as has MGS2: SOL, the least in the tourney.
-Half Life has stumbled out of the gate, going 0-2-1. With 14 points for and 19 against.
-As always in the past, Halo can not handle the showdown format; combined the games are 1-5 with 17 votes for and 37 against.
-Inspite of low to middle rankings, Max Payne, Tekken 3, KOTOR, Max Payne 2, Super Mario Brothers, and Katamari Damacy are all 3-0, and are thus far the early dark horses. Of course, these games have combined to go 1-0 against ranked opponents.
-Shenmue has drawn a mere 1 vote in three matches so far.
-Mario Kart 64 has been battered to the tune of 31 votes against.
-Diablo 2 is dominating Division I-AA, with the only 3-0 record, 15 votes for, and 2 votes against.
-If you were to ignore the power rankings before the contest started and take the standings as the only contributing factor, the top 5 would look something like this:
