I've gotten a little idea about reading Links article about a wargame called Under Ash. I realized how big the video game industry has become. So big that I miss a lot of good titles simply because I do not hear about them when they come out, but about a year or two later either in forum posts or articles I stumble upon.
And this is a darn shame I must say, because in my honest opinion a lot of 'mini budget' that are made by less known developers are a lot better than the big budget games. Not necessarily in graphics... but either in gameplay, story... they are MORE fun to play!
So I'd like to ask you dear Revolutionaries, what do you think of an idea where we would make a topic that would act as a list in which we would add games that we recommend for others to play? From the big budget ones to the underdogs!
I know there are reviews and I know I could probably find a lot information about less known good games on the internet, but frankly I and probably a lot of others on this board or those that are just reading them don't have the time to scour the internet to find hidden treasures.
I trust you guys. I believe that Revolutionaries only play good games and are objective enough to know which game they would recommend and which they would tell to avoid.
We could make a big list that covers all gaming systems, even not so successful ones. But for starters I'd say we begin with Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, PC and go from here on to the current generation and then back to the oldies which are still goldies.
You would tell us the name of the game, which console is it on and also provide a link to either a trailer or review (or both, if you wish) so that others could get a better picture.
I'll start with two examples:
Grandia II (PS2)
Review: http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/dr ... grandia-ii (a port is available)
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=behC0nc7Mr4
Valkyria Chronicles (PS3)
Review: http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/ps ... chronicles
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bceYkhQjxGY
What do you think? Yay or nay?
