Fallout 3, PC over rest???

Rookie
I am wondering why anyone with a computer that can run it, would get it for either consoles? The PC version has achievements, better graphics, the DLC, and... future mods sure to make the game better an more interesting, and can use the console controllers.

So, my question is... is there ANY benefit to getting it for a console instead of the PC if you can run it.

Consoles are just less of a hassle. Consoles have pretty much turned into PC's anyways. Plus everybody is familiar with the dual analogue control style as much as they are with mouse and keyboard.

Yeah everyone is familiar with that style, but it doesn't make it more efficient, effective, or enjoyable for everyone. But the question is, is there any fundamental difference that I am missing out on by getting it for the PC. Best me and my friend can tell, we getting more benfiits actually. I don't think I am missing anything, and would like to know if i am

Moved.

And I just like playing on a comfy chair on a big TV more.

oo Sorry, of course. I was posting on another site too and it slipped my mind since i'm usually on the MISC boards here. Thanks for the move.

If you have a fucking monster rig that can run the game flawlessly then get it for the PC. If you have to fiddle around with the settings then get it for consoles. I've been playing games in the post-Halo era for so long I couldn't care less whether it's dual analogue r mouse and keyboard, but that's just my thoughts.

I just don't understand. Why build a complete rig with 4 GPU or more.... waste of time and money in my opinion. Your rig will have lost half of it's value in less than a year.....

Also, a console is cheaper than computer.....hell you can even look at porn on it now.

get it for pc if you have a good one.

stuff is always and will always be better on pc if you have the hardware

There's no benefit playing it on a console over a good PC. Some people require a noobstick to play games, but that certainly doesn't make it better.

Because gamers who only play on consoles are not true gamers. Why do you even need to ask, or are you one of them?

I wouldn't, but my rig isn't very good now a days and paying for a new one or upgrading it is probably more expensive than just buying a 360 with the game. Parts add up, and on top of that...you have to upgrade quite a bit if you want top performance. By quite a bit, I mean fairly frequently to rival and top consoles.

I was a PC gamer before I was a console gamer and I still considering myself more passionate about PC gaming, but I just don't get a lot of stuff offered on consoles now (exclusive games, usually.) on PC. A lot of games that gain critical acclaim for PC haven't really interested me recently either (with some exceptions of course. I really want Dragon Age.) so it's kind of a love-hate relationship.

Speaking as someone who has been plating video games for twenty years now, yet no longer bothers with PC games due to my crappy cpu and the fact I just like playing on a PC less, I would like to know how exactly I'm not a true gamer.

Ignore him. If he needs that elitism to feel better about himself, his opinion isn't taking into consideration on this issue.

Playing a multi-platform game on a PC rather than on a console or vice versa is solely an issue of preference. I generally prefer playing games on my Boot Camped Macbook Pro, but don't mind playing on a 360 or PS3. My decisions are usually made for me though because I don't have either of those systems, haha.

Oh, so you were just joking. Gotcha.

No. Watered down experience IMO. Developers and are holding games back because of consoles. Why? Because of money. Consoles are where the money is, and that is completely understandable from a publishers and business stand point. But when it comes to games, a lot of the PC titles are just ported from their console counter parts - which makes me a sad panda. I would press more, but its getting a bit off topic.

Its a matter of preference really, some enjoy gaming in their living room while others like the simplistic nature of consoles. I prefer Keyboard and mouse so that's where I'm going to play Fallout.

So everything confirms... if you can run it on your PC, get it for your PC. Thanks.

As for too much to build 4 GPUs... well luckily i have a good job, and i am getting one of the dual gpu cards for free from future brother in law. Also, I am in a nice position of being able to write off my next desktop on my taxes for full cost since it will spend most of its day as a trading platform. Figure if I can stick enough power into it, I can play a game on one screen and do my work on the other 7.

Oh, and for those that say 8 screens WTF!!.... You should see the main station for work... 16 25" wide screens.

My PC right now (which i'll play fallout on until i build new one in few months), is Dual Core 2.66ghz, 3gb ram, XP pro, Nvidia 8800 Ultra, yet to have a problem running anything barring a PSU problem originally back last May with first power supply. I still run all the current games on full graphics (minus shadows). I did make minor edits for Crysis though, just don't remember what I modified.

And I really need to stop posting on forums after I finish half a bottle of Whiskey or Grappa or a 6 pack of IPAs... While my typing improves, I don't know if my structure does and can't tell until morning

WTF? Most of the big name titles are made for consoles. PC gamers are the ones who aren't true gamers.
