Basing the final grade off of what?

You know the little box with the "+" and "-" at the end of your review? Do you base what grade the game will receive' off of that, or is that box just naming some positives, and negatives?

I'm just curious. Now type up the answer to that question, then after you've posted (no editing now) read this next part!

Now if you've posted you may read this next part.
To start off...honestly wtf. We all know NO game's perfect, but this is just stupid!

Yea you put a negative for "Restarting missions is never fun."

No really, Joe? Jeeze. Is this just you trying to bring the game down some way, so GR will never have an A+

Let's look at another example/comparison.

Duke's review for Zelda. He gave a negative for "Mediocre MIDI music." Which is fine. A complaint on the music makes a game from being perfect.

A complaint on a personal problem however DOES NOT.
"Restarting missions is never fun" Guh. Honestly. Do better! Huh, huh, huh? We all know Duke's the game master, so does that mean the game would be perfect if he reviewed it? He'd never have to restart the missions. We know that. Hmmm.

I'll take into account next time I read a review that your skills on playing a game determines whether, or not it'll be perfect.

I'm not some crazy fan of GTA that wants GTA to be perfect, but I feel you guy's should rate games A+. A review is an opinion not a fact, so give your opinion that you feel a game is the best game you've played so far.

I don't want to ramble, so I'll end this.

Also one last thing. "Restarting missions is never fun" I'm not quite sure, but shouldn't that be "Restarting missions are never fun" Like I said though, i'm not exactly sure. Hrm.

It was just a big joke everyone on the internet was in on to wind hellfire up.

I don't know how any GTA game gets an A, myself.

We try to have the body of the review, the report card and the grade all be consistent with one another. No one thing is based on any other, all must match.

That also means every plus or minus in a report card summarizes a point made in the review.

In this case 'Restarting missions is never fun' corresponds to:

As before, the numerous, varied and largely exciting missions make up the bulk of the game, but can still get on a playa's nerves. Many are long and difficult, and getting back on track once you screw up can take forever, especially if the mission has you traveling out into the boondocks. Although checkpoints wouldn't do anything for the game's awesome sense of realism, reloading every five minutes doesn't do much, either. This hasn't been fixed in the Xbox version.

I made the minus sound feeble and insincere, when jacking a tractor and driving into town for a fast car made me want to break the disc and slit my wrists with the shards a couple times. My bad.

You think I was wound up? No it was more of a joke post...

Thanks Joe. That's the reply I was looking for ;)

A personal problem is perfectly fine in a review as reviews are personal opinions and preference.

I laugh when people tell them they were wrong in a review. There is no right or wrong with opinions. How long will it be until we can all figure this out?

We all make mistakes. Like you sticking your reply to my mistake in the same quote. :)

No. It could also be written 'the act of restarting missions is never fun.' Using 'are' instead of 'is' makes the word 'restarting' describe the word 'missions'. As if you were saying 'Solo missions are never fun' or 'Escorting missions are never fun'.
