Okay, I'm just really excited about this right now (maybe I've just had too much permanent marker in my face), so I don't care if you heard it in chat five times already.
I made scones today! For the first time. And they turned out way better than I thought they would, because my baking adventures are definitely adventures, and things don't often turn out the way they should. Anyway, these ones are f'ing TASTY, mofos. Granted, they aren't the best thing you've ever had (or maybe they are, in which case, go treat yourself), but they are far from bad.
I ate one just to test, and now I want the rest. Unfortunately, they are for the tea party I'm hosting tomorrow with my tea club. I must wait.
Funny thing is that I didn't check the amount of flour available at the time (because the concern never comes to mind when you buy 20 lbs of flour), and I was a bit surprised that we only had a jarful. Thus, I could only use the recipe, which calls for 3 c. of flour per batch, twice. Didn't want to bother using a half recipe, using half an egg, etc.
I haven't taken any pictures, but maybe I will tomorrow. I'm very forgetful when it comes to that, though, especially when it involves food. I see it and the desire to consume simply overwhelms me. You know how it is.
I really wish you could enjoy these with me! I'm quite proud, and I hope you are too. Especially because it means that I've created another thread (and we all know we needed more of those in here).
