Honestly, I agree with Links. Sephiroth is not too powerful, and had he not killed Aeris he would not have been so cool.
Maybe they couldn't use a phoenix down because Aeris was dead and not just KO'd.

but in the end he did kill aeris wich is why he's so cool.and if you know his background you know he isnt weak but very strong.
