I think what Used is referring to is movies like Hostel, where the plot is only there so people won't feel strange about getting a kick out of "torture porn" as it's called.

Yes, that combined with low production values makes me ill. Hostel did have higher production values, but most of these "8 Films to Die For" style movies have such an amateur look that when combined with the torture porn mentalitly, just makes me feel bad.
