how quickly we forget.. about when the changes the format of the website and forum. lets go back to the black

..the decade ends at the ends of 2010. i thought? like that sienfeld episode when the new millennium party is supposed to be when they bring in the year 2001 and not 2000.

oooo, but i agree, go back to black, all this white hurts my eyes.

Also yes, it was when i joined and i miss those silly intro signs that used to come up during the old GR website.

Also what was that Jesus forum/group invasion thing, that happened also right?

Oh and practically the end of the mail bag which seems to not happen anymore :(

I'd like the above ones explained - if it's not too much trouble.

Things I remember that were big:

The switch from the old to the new beta
The switch from the beta to the current eye soar shit
    The switch TO Bolt
    The switch FROM Bolt
    Joeblow
    Teens-4-Christ
    Typewriter's forum invasion idea
    TNO fucking shit up
    Shane's shotgun suicide
Jared getting a 14 year old pregnant and then fleeing the state
And I just caught the tail end of the whole El Dorado thing

    Did Shane really kill himself?

And for me I guess everything mentioned, and the addition to the podcast.

    The switch from Gamepost.
The many accounts of -bbk, and his rap battle topics.
The rise and fall of The Cookster.
Ted Wolff's alternate account, and his rap battle topics (well one post really).
Incognito and the random disappearance of many others members.
When my friends would join the boards and leave in the same day.
    Rauno.
    Console (Clan) Wars.

also, >Brand-X< and his pervertedness even though that was more of a live chat thing.

-The switch from the old forums (consisting of just two, a catch-all and an RPG) to the new
-The switch from the old site with the opening picture to the new site
-All of the Covert Ops hijinx
-A time when April Fools forum jokes hoodwinked a lot of people
-The countless "I'm leaving" topics, followed by the return of many who had "left"
-The ceaseless pandering of Hellfire, BBK, Shane, et al. who seem just seemed to draw the love and hate (more so hate) of many
-The 'Name That Classic Game' forum game (and 'Name That Classic Game Tune')
-To be succinct: The Live Chat
-Orphic's posting of 'A Tale of Two Cities' on the forums
-Meeting MillaTime, virtually, on the forums, and then at college, personally
    -The Roswell, GA kids
-The countless topics about the "good old days" and how the forums aren't as interesting anymore (as if!)
-The seemingly never-ending Post Your Pics topics
-A time when being a mod seemed to be a big deal and how it is now much less so

-All the great friends I've made!

And, seriously, the people. Many come and go, some stay around for a while, but, having been here the entire decade, it's always entertaining, jovial, and (to me) worth sticking around for.

Long story short...Somehow word got to the boards that Icepick was going to commit suicide and a lot of board members all when nuts with worry about the guy...while a few others thought it was all a bluff. So, a few members decided to make a clan and website devoted to urging Icepick to off himself as a joke because they figured he wasn't serious. The link to the website was posted on the boards, and lots of people were very upset. Bans were called for (back then getting banned was a big deal for it rarely if ever happened). But when it turned out Icepick was fine and not suicidal all the hoopla died down.
