All things considered, time of release, etc, this is the best ****ing videogame CGI of all time. I'm 31, and I was 19 when this came out. Just let that sink in for a minute, and appreciate just how far ahead of it's time this intro was.

And they also had budgets in the millions just for 90 minutes of CGI. Games have only recently begun to have comparable budgets to blockbuster movies.

Gosh i loved Soul Edge... I played that thing until my thumbs started screaming for help.
It's funny that with a small change of the sequels' names a lot of Soul Calibur fans don't even know about the game that started it all.

This game also game out in 96 and I've still seen little that surpasses it. Still holds up well to this day and that after warp effect still is downright nifty.
