I remember someone making a thread about this and showing off this ]YouTube video[/color] about the U.S Army's new armor TALOS (Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit). Well, its prototype is releasing next month and this image from Discovery looks more like the UNSC armor in Halo than in that video

The sad thing is you know they're going to market this as cool new technology and make it appealing to the impressionable youth out there by making them seem like they can be that CoD badass.

Putting that aside, as long as this offers more protection and a tactical advantage to the troops, I'm all for it. Of course they will likely reserve it for spec ops soldiers before your general infantryman.

Looks ugly as hell and i'm worried about how they're planning to deal with the heat build up from the impacting rounds. That fluid is going to get real hot real fast and if that pump takes a hit, you've effectively got a dickhead running around with a wet plastic bag on his chest daring you to shoot him.
It's also going to reduce the supplies troops using it can carry due to the weights of the pump and batteries, meaning we won't see this on regular infantry units for many, many years if ever.
This is assuming they can get the power source sorted, of course.

Incidentally, is anybody else sick of those stupid fucking scrolling bars websites like that insist on shitting up the place with?
