So, the way they wrapped up the Klingon War arc was about the stupidest thing I've seen on Star Trek ever (including Spock's Brain).
BUT MAN HOW ABOUT THAT USS ENTERPRISE
I thought they'd completely mess it up if they showed a Constitution-class ship on Discovery, but this looks great. The design is updated just enough to look like it belongs, but still retains the classic shape and features that made the ship iconic. The refit design in The Motion Picture onward makes way more sense now too if this is the way to ship was supposed to look the whole time.
I'm usually not a huge fan of retcons, but in this case I think the redesign of the Enterprise was done with enough care that it makes it visually unique and interesting without being disrespectful to Matt Jeffries original model.
