Interstellar spoilers! Click at your own risk.

Murphy did it the first time through, because they (being the 5th dimensional beings) were able to help her.

They wouldn't exist if Murphy wasn't there, but she does so they do.

Stable time loop. Remember in Harry Potter 3 when he saves his own life twice? Think of it like that.

A friend of mine pointed out that Interstellar is every M Night Shyamalan movie ever.

It's about an all American farming family (Signs)
Where nature is trying to kill us (The Happening)
Full of scientific exposition and space exploration (After Earth)
And at the end the twist is McConaughey was the ghost the whole time (The Sixth Sense)

It reminds me of the conversation between Hurley and Miles in Lost. It's a big theme in the show based on the philosophy of time, that things happen because of fate; they happen because they've happened. I would consider Miles' point of view for Interstellar. The wormhole was always placed there because humans had always evolved to the point where they would place it there.

If you're jazzed about time, check out this other video by Brian Greene. It messes with your understanding of NOW as far as general relativity is concerned.
