Okay, I did this a year or two ago to great success, and now it's time to do it again! I was planning to hold off on it a while longer, but I plan to use to results to start next year's showdown, so we may as well do it again with all the new faces we have here.
It's quite simple. Each person will post a list of their Top 20 favorite video games. #1 on a list gets 20 points, #2 gets 19, and so on. At the end of this month, I count up all the lists. Then, over the period of about a month, I post up the games 5 at a time, counting backwards from 100, until we get to #1. It should be quite fun.
Okay, you only get one chance at your list, so think about it carefully (you have a month). Once you submit your list, unless you change it right after posting it, you won't get a chance to change it. Also, most expansions will be counted alot with their original games. For instance, Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War votes will be counted together. Same with most remakes, like Skies of Arcadia and Skies of Arcadia Legends. But some exemptions are made, like Half-Life and Half-Life: Counterstrike or Resident Evil and Resident Evil: REmake. It's about logic. Also, the console is irrelevant. IE: Votes for Halo for Xbox and Halo for PC are counted as the same. Plus, I reserve the right to throw out any blatantly joke ballots.
I'd go into a deeper explanation, i'm sure I forgot something, but my net has been erratic lately, so this should be good for now. I just want to urge every member of gamepost's society to be a part of this.
My list:
1: Final fantasy VII (PS)
2: Metal gear solid 2: Sons of liberty (PS2)
3: Metal gear solid (PS)
4: Final fantasy tactics (PS)
5: Starcraft (PC)
6: Half Life 2 (PC)
7: Half life (PC)
8: Zone of the enders: The second runner (PS2)
9: Max Payne (PC)
10: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
11: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (PS2)
12: Final fantasy VI (SNES)
13: Call of Duty (PC)
14: Devil May Cry (PS2)
15: Final fantasy VIII (PS)
16: Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne (PC)
17: Final Fantasy IX (PS)
18: Final fantasy X (PS2)
19: Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (PC)
20: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS)
Good luck, and remember, GR wants your list!
