Actually Blizzard is already implanting a DRM like this. Though it suck when you have a game underway and then BAM, you lose the internet for one sec and you lose everything. That's why I like Steam. There is an offline mode for things like this. This will only make people pirate the game...

Retro game challenge is fun and hilarous. As for me, it depends of how retro you are looking for. The latest gradius some is old school but umbrella chronicle sure have the retro arcade feels to it. SF4 also comes to mind.
