The one dollar, ten million pre-order game

So, there's a game coming out this November called Afterfall InSanity. It won't be expensive, but you can get the whole game for just one dollar. That's all it'll cost if you preorder it now.

That is, only if it reaches ten million preorders. If not, then every single dollar that was put down as a preorder will go to charity instead.

If it does make ten million preorders, then ten percent (one million dollars) will be given to charity, while every dollar over ten million will be split 50/50.

To put it simply, either you get a game for a dollar or give a dollar to charity and can feel good about yourself.

Maybe if a few(many) enthusiasts preorder 10 copies instead of one? Maybe some rich guy gives away a few thousand.

No, you can’t, I agree with you. My point was that The Witcher 2 is a much more known game, that has publicity, advertisements, and is a sequel to a game that was popular. If it wasn’t for Longo I would have never heard of this game. 10 million preorders is a steep hill to climb for any game much less an Indy game that no one has ever heard of before.

I mean, yeah, it's obvious this won't reach 10 million. Not a chance. But still, you put down a buck and if it doesn't, you're out a buck that'll be given to someone who needs it. Is it a publicity stunt? Definitely. But it's the good kind of publicity stunt.
