Long-time MMO player looking for controller-friendly MMORPGs

Hey everyone,

I’m on the hunt for an MMORPG that actually feels good to play with a controller. Lately, comfort has started to matter a lot more to me, especially when I’m sitting back and playing for longer sessions.

I’ve been a keyboard and mouse player for years, and over time I’ve spent a lot of time in MMOs like Mu Online, Ragnarok Online, Drakensang, Albion, Black Desert, and more recently Throne and Liberty. That one honestly feels like one of the more controller-friendly MMOs I’ve tried so far, even if I still need to get used to its upgrade systems again.

WoW has always been one of those games I meant to get deeper into, but the subscription model and my habit of playing casually or jumping between games always made it hard to stick with. I usually end up doing short binge sessions instead of committing to just one game long-term.

My setup is also a little different now. I’ve got a strong PC, but I stream a lot of my games to other devices with Sunshine and Moonlight. Because of that, controller support matters way more than it used to. Playing at a distance makes keyboard and mouse feel awkward, and UI scaling can get annoying fast depending on the genre.

So I’m basically looking for MMOs that:
  • feel good or at least totally workable with a controller
  • do not punish casual play too hard
  • have a UI and overall experience that works well on a TV or streamed setup
I’ve also been keeping an eye on Warvox since it’s coming soon, mostly because I’m curious how it handles that kind of setup.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
