Anyone else miss that Classic WoW style of leveling?

I’ve been playing Classic lately (around level 25 now) and it reminded me why that experience was so fun. Questing actually feels a bit dangerous. If you pull too many mobs, you’re dead. Some quests send you into areas where you’re clearly underleveled, so you either find help, grind a bit, or come back later. That sense of the world being bigger than you is what makes it great.

I also like how the quests slowly push you into new zones and harder areas. Yeah, you’re following exclamation marks, but it still feels like you’re exploring the world naturally.

Are there other MMOs that capture that same feeling? Not necessarily super hard, but where you actually need to pay attention while leveling and can’t just face-roll everything.

PvP is a big plus too. I used to spend a lot of time doing that in New World.

I’ve been keeping an eye on a few upcoming MMOs as well. Warvox looks interesting since it’s supposed to focus more on skill-based combat and open world encounters, and it’s heading into early access soon. Curious if it’ll capture some of that old-school tension while leveling.

Would love to hear what games gave you that Classic WoW leveling vibe.
