Why is Will Smith's kid and Jackie Chan in The Karate Kid?

Because Jewish movie execs love white-washed black guys. And there isn't a black guy as white washed as Will Smith. So it's easy to get his son gigs. And Jackie Chan decided to do something else besides Rush Hour 4.

I can't wait until we move on to remaking 90's movies. And then new millenium movies... AKA remakes of remakes.

The funnier thing is the movie is set in China. They don't do Karate in China, they do Kung Fu.

There is a line in the trailer where Jackie Chan says "I will teach you Kung Fu."

Yet for some reason it's still called "The Karate Kid"

If it was called "The Kung-Fu Kid" people might get upset that they butchered an original classic.

It doesn't need to be called "The (insert martial arts name here) Kid" at all. Could be called something completely different. It's not like the story is gonna be all that similar to the original except for the tournament he's in anyway.

In 2021 the new blockbuster movie of the summer is King Kong.

Based off the 2014 movie that was based off the 2005 movie that was based off the 1976 movie that was based off the 1933 movie.

I predict it'll be better than the re-reboot of Batman that comes out in 2019.

I think it'll be pretty decent, but it sucks that he can't even be the Karate Kid... he'll always be "Will Smith's son" in The Karate Kid. He'll probably have that follow him around his entire life.

Well when your dad is Will Smith he casts a pretty big shadow. I predict his kid will realize that in his early 20's and turn to a life of alcohol and drug abuse. Like children of the stars always do. (See: Drew Barrymore, Robert Downey Jr.)
