War Horse... good movie, although it got quite slow during parts.
too be fair that's expected of this movie
I seen it with my pops who wanted to watch it, and in all honesty I didn't like it, largely because it's not a style of movie I care for, however, exceptionally well done and produced
Fantastic movie, and the effects in it were seriously disgusting. I've been very desensitized by the internet but for some reason things with insects still absolutely fucking grosses me out and I can barely stand to watch it.
After I watched this movie my friends girlfriend was so amazed with me being grossed out by that she began to show me anime porn with insects in it, the fact that people can get off to that shit makes me sick. So fucking gross holy shit.
lord of war
excellent movie, too tired to explain, + it's old and most have probably seen it. one of nic cages rare gems.
Wanted to hang out with my best buds from high school while I was in town and for some reason this "was the only option" for movies (dragoon tattoo, mission impossible 4 and tin-tin didn't interest them). The 3D was well not needed and the plot........ *sigh*....... The plot makes Battle LA look like District 9. THis movie is movie cliche and flaws packed into a single movie. Wasn't even the kind of bad that you could enjoy and when I was watching it the theater was filled with loud middle schoolers.
Finally! Wonderful movie. I love movies that feel like movies. Like the whole town is one big set and the adventure is just meant to be. Awesome homage to Steven Spielberg and to films in general. The kids were all great, especially Elle Fanning. I wish she had been on-screen for the entire movie. The end was minorly dissapointing in that I wish it had gone a bit longer, but I get it.
Surprisingly slow and boring. The flashes of violence were compelling, but nothing else was watchable. Half of the characters were literally hard to understand as the audio track would randomly drop their dialogue to a whisper. I'm interested in reading the story but I would not recommend this "classic" film to anybody. The best part was actually the narrated fable that opened the film. Downhill from there.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, watched it last night on netflix and I though it was funny. If you haven't heard about the movie it basically makes fun of those slasher, teen summer/spring horror movies and I find majority of those movies either dumb or cheesy so I really liked the parody aspect of the movie. Basically any character cliche or horror cliche is poked at in the movie in a good way, sometimes subtle and other times not. But at the same time even though it's a parody movie it's a bit more than that and just a fun movie to watch. As a warning if you don't like typical horror movie gore then skip it, it's not Saw or war movie level but you know what I mean
The Big Lebowski, I've never seen a Coen brothers movie before and I've heard this movie mention on various podcast I listen to so I decided to give it a shot since it was on netflix and I also really liked this one as well. I didn't laugh a lot at the movie but even though it wasn't extremely funny to me it was still great to watch because of the great original characters, great acting (in my opinion) and the weird but interesting kidnapping plot. Though honestly before watching it I thought it was going to be a movie about some big bowling competition and the Dude had to train Steve Buscemi to beat all the odds.... I do wish John Turturro was in it more, every second he was on screen made me laugh
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Damn, was it good. A lot better than I expected. 9/10. Rooney Mara was absolutely great in it, and Daniel Craig held up his role great. Good supporting cast as well. Some very uncomfortable scenes though.
I always wanted to see The Big Lebowski, because of keepithowitis's avatar. I keep forgetting to check it out. Perhaps I should make a note the next time I go to a store.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was sick! 9.5/10.
My gf walked out during both rape scenes - oddly enough she stayed during the torture scene....
Anyway, Daniel Craig is a boss! Badass flick! Agreed!
Is GwtDT better than the Swedish version? Cause that one was awesome.
I don't think it's better. I suppose you could call them about on par with each other. Though that's just my opinion. It is nice to have it in English though.
Good flick, not extremely fancy but I would still agree with it's best picture nomination. Great acting, especially on Hailee Steinfeld. Damn for someone so young she acted so well, seriously her, Chloe Grace Moretz and Elle Fanning are going to grow up into award winning acting all stars if they keep up the good work. The movie did make me want to play RDR while watching it, I don't like westerns and I personally don't find that era that interesting. It's very rare when there is western movie/game that I like and this is one of them (RDR and Gun are the only western games I like, well and oregon trail if you want to count that)
A whole lot better than I thought it was going to be, when it came out in theaters I thought it looked stupid and I personally found it to be an enjoyable film. I felt a fight club style in the movie in the sense of how it presented itself but in no way does this movie compare to fight club. This is a movie I wouldn't say to go out and rush to see it but if the opportunity comes up to watch it then definitely sit and enjoy.
A couple of them. First, I rewatched Iron Man 2, which is great, and Captain America, which is better.
But the important one is I finally saw Tin Tin.
It was awesome. Very gritty and adult for a kids movie, since they dealt with some hard hitting stuff like murder and alcoholism. I really enjoyed it, and of course the whole thing had Spielberg's amazing directorial flare. I give it a thumbs up.
Ahh yes... even though it gets all the high praises, I strongly believe, as a comic book fan, that tintin is underrated. It's such a great film, true to the original source and filled with action and glee. Like how a tintin book should feel!
Hey who wouldn't want to see daniel craig's hot body tied up and him squealing. Huh i mean not that i enjoy this or anything just my... girlfriend... 's sister... 's friend does... yeah!
Hey, everyone liked that scene in Casino Royale, right?
Awesome movie, I've wanted to see it for a long time and finally picked up the Blu Ray at Future Shop and don't regret it.
Was a very well done movie, kind of a horror/suspense set in the dark age. The atmosphere was great, acting was good, sound was great, picture quality was good enough, and the story IMO was unique, not predictable.
I'd probably give it lower, but it was a unique original movie experience. Can't say that very often these days. There aren't really any good guys, mainly because of what we know today. In that barbaric age the good guys would be the ones the story follows, because what they know and what they do they think is right. But from us watching it in 2012, they're all villains. Though you ultimately still root and feel for the main characters.
One of the biggest Emo movies I've ever seen. But it tries not to take itself too seriously and was weird enough to keep me entertained throughout. I'd recommend it, but only if you're looking for an oddball black comedy. It's on Netflix. Only downside, not enough Will Arnett.
You guys suck at posting pics.
if you don't know how to post a pic, at least write the name of the movie as well.
