I've watched so many movies recently, but I guess the last one I watched was Sicario. It was decent...maybe I'm just a harsh critic, but I don't see the hype it got.

Watched Maze Runner: The Death Cure...the entire film was just meh. Even the action sequences etc.
First film was top! The rest have fallen short.

Haha, my wife made fun of me for how much I really (really really) liked the first Made Runner. I need to watch it again. I haven't seen the sequels.

I liked the first Maze Runner until I thought about it for a bit. Then I realized there were so many plot holes that it was insane they let so much slide through. It was entertaining, for what it's worth.

Watched Accident Man earlier. Holy crap, that was some pretty good choreography and an unexpectedly excellent movie.

I watched Mom and Dad (2017). Possibly the best Nicolas Cage movie ever.

I also saw Black Panther this weekend. I liked it. I'll check out the dedicated thread for more thoughts.

^ Let me know what Shape of Water is like...it's one of those I'm not sure about after watching the trailer.

Ugh. My topic got switched over to the old Colin who used to work here :( My crowning life achievement...taken from me!

I watched Black Panther and Annihilation recently. I loved them both but for vastly different reasons. I'd give them a solid 4 out of 5 or even a 4.5 out of 5 and look forward to seeing both of them again.

Fun fact! Anyone outside of N.A can watch Annihilation on Netflix!

My wife and I went and saw Red Sparrow this weekend. It was pretty good, the acting by everyone was fantastic, but the plot seemed kinda full of itself, if that makes sense. Overly convoluted for the sake of being overly convoluted.

I bought Thor: Ragnarok on Bluray. I want to watch it soon but somehow, I fear that it'll end up as an unwrapped movie for a long period of time... despite my love for this movie (my favourite film of 2017).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out soon on Bluray. I'll probably get that too.

Has anyone seen the Netflix film "Annihilation"? It's starring Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaac.

At this stage, it seems to be a Netflix exclusive but apparently it's really good.

It's not on Netflix in America, sadly. But I just finished the novel and I'll catch it on digital rental soon, I hope.

Fair warning - it diverts pretty wildly from the novel.

Did you watch it @Master_Craig ?

Oh I'm sure it does. The novel, and specifically the inner-perspective of the protagonist, seems hard to film.

I haven't even seen the trailer for the movie. I just saw that Alex Garland had a new film starring Natalie Portman and it was based on this book, and I wasn't reading anything else at the time, and it wasn't going to be opening in any theaters near me, so I gave it a shot.

I'm on a superhero movie kick right now. Finally watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, and Thor: Ragnarok. GG2 and Thor were great. Dr. Strange was dog shit.

Finally got around to watching the new Bladerunner and ended up watching two more times. The twists and just the well paced unraveling of clue after clue. It departed from the future noir feel a bit but I loved it still.

I still need to watch that.

I watched Wind River this weekend. Really good. A really impressive performance from Jeremy Renner.
