Finally got around to seeing it this weekend and this pretty much sums up my feelings on it. Only minor gripe would be that I also agreed with the sentiment that some of the humor tried a little too hard. Ultron himself was a bit of a surprise compared to how he was presented in the trailers. They almost had him on the verge of wacky territory. "Oh, come on now!" cut in with a dramatic scene comes to mind.
Watched Van Helsing the other night (starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckonsale). It's still cheesy as anything but I really enjoyed it when I first watched it years ago, so it was a nice nostalgic trip. The soundtrack is still awesome. Everyone and their hats reminded me of Bloodborne.
I really want to see that one. I've heard so many good things and it's been a while since there's been thought provoking sci-fi if I recall correctly. I thought this was better than Age of Ultron. It was loud, fun and didn't take itself too seriously. That scene at the beach man..Had me tearing me up. I feel like Walker didn't have as much screen time as he did in the previous films and the story was more about Dom than anything. I don't know if that's due to his passing or if the script was initially written like that. I wanted to see at least one last, lengthy conversation between Dom and Brian. I really feel the next two entries will lack a certain charm or appeal without Walker in them. Hobbs is a fun character but he's such a tongue in cheek caricature of American badass heroes that he can't replace Walker's character. 4.5 out of 5
Buying a new car tomorrow with sick speakers, heading to the Drive-In on the weekend with it to watch Mad-Max I know I didn't watch one, but I had to share Will update with review. <3 Tom HArdy
Went to the theaters last night and saw Age of Ultron. I didn't expect anything less. Although, there was a scene in the trailer where Vision entered the water. They deleted that scene from the film.
I want to see Mad Max: Fury Road, but I probably won't be able to see it for a few weeks. :/ I'll be seeing Disney's Tangled this weekend at a free outdoor screening event this Saturday. Tangled is my favourite Disney movie so it should be fun.
Ex Machina was mixed for me. 3.5 Chappie, the trailer made it look like chappie was this ass kicking robot that was going to save the world. The movie delivered a much different experience. 3.5 Project Almanac, stupid enough to watch.(And full of logical paradoxes) 2
Mad Max. So much better than the Avengers as a summer blockbuster. Nevermind the men's group protestors and the hipster fucks at Huffpuff calling it a feminist movie, shit is just badass, regardless of gender.
3.5/5 Good film letting the audience understand how words can create a visual. The film has a unique way of expressing carpe diem. I may not explore the world freely like Dobby, but nowadays I worry less and not give much sh*t when something stressful happens. Sh*t happens.
Angry Australian The only thing keeping this from being the perfect movie was Charlize Theron not having an accent. Other than that, great movie. I wouldn't call it feminist, but still. There was a guitar that shot fire. 10/10
Ah, shit my theater was giving out free posters like Lethean posted but I forgot to grab one on the way out.
Went to see Tomorrowland over the weekend and thought it was pretty boring. Probably the first Brad Bird film I didn't particularly enjoy.
In theater: Mad Max Fury Road. I can safely say I've never seen anything quite like it. For the kind of movie that it was, 10/10. Not something I'm going to see again in the theater, but for the kind of movie that it was it was amazing. At home: Goodfellas. No commentary needed. 10/10.
I saw Mad Max: Fury Road the other day and I absolutely loved it. The entire film was filled with so much intensity and action. Favourite movie of 2015 so far, 10 out of 10. I also watched Kung Fury about a week ago. Hilarious short film (about 30 minutes) and it's free to watch on YouTube. If you haven't seen it yet, I really recommend you do. Gonna be watching Jurassic World tonight so I'm really looking forward to that.
