Star Wars Blu Ray

My friend made a website where you can order shirts making fun of all the changes. I don't know, I might end up getting it in the end.

George Lucas is an idiot! How can you people seriously still support these movies?

They are all so ruined with the new scenes and "digital enhancements." I suggest you all read into this garbage before shelling out 80+ bones.

Because I don't have a copy of the movies I can watch right now and why not get it in the higher quality. And to be honest all those changes don't really matter to me. It's still the same movie... they are tiny tiny changes imo.

Pretty much this. The only one that will irritate me is when Darth Vader says "nooo" in Jedi. Other than that, I couldn't care less. It isn't like he's drastically altering the story and it will be remastered in high definition with lossless audio. That's a pretty good reason to buy it. Same reason I replaced my DVD copy of Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan with a blu ray copy. It's no different for Star Wars.

nooooooooooooo way.

But it did prompt me to pick up the previous release of the original trilogy on DVD, with the original theatrical cuts, as I hadnt jumped from VHS yet in terms of star wars film ownership.

That's the main reason why I'm getting them. Honestly I'm not even sure if some of those original vhs tapes I have even work anymore.

I would only get this if the changes were not in it. This was Lucas' shot at redemption, and he just messed it up more.

I won't buy it for myself. I haven't bought movies in forever. Saw it in Target yesterday. There sure were plenty of copies sitting on the shelves.

The Target and Best Buy near my home were completely sol out of the complete saga. They had copies of the first trilogy and second trilogy on their own however.

But that chances the whole weight and emotion of perhaps the second most important scene in the fucking franchise.

It's like adding a slapstick bit at the end of Gladiator, or porno music at the end of Lord of the Rings; it shouldn't be there because it messes up the scene.
