Time for my rant that all programmers will understand.

For the past few weeks I've been working on a site for my boss. After making it in dreamweaver, we found the system that we can upload it to and give us PPC ads and let us eventually add adsense. I've been tweaking the little things for days, given that we have 2 pages worth of content and have 5 "coming soon" pages.

Today my boss comes in, says he really wants us to push this site live by the end of the week (I agree, which is why I think the site is ready). However he feels that the colors, the top banner size, and the in system link colors (that I can't change) need changing. For the first time at this job I feared I might get fired for I had to hold my tongue from bursting out something along the lines of "What the fuck is wrong with you? You couldn't have said these things when I was still designing it in dreamweaver? You had to wait until I had everything working in the preview stage to suggest these changes? I get it, you want this site to be perfect, but for fucks sake you spend way too much time focusing on the tiniest shit details that no one cares about. We spent 15 minutes this morning discussing the generic contact email. I'm sorry [email protected] is too spam friendly for you, but considering you don't even check the emails yourself, why does it matter? Let's just get the site live and see what happens with our single page of content."

On a more serious note, my buddy Myron Rolle got drafted into the NFL by the Tennessee Titans. If you have heard his name recently its because he skipped the previous draft in order to pursue his Rhodes Scholarship. (yes, i know a rhodes scholar!) How do you feel about him pursuing his education with the hopes of changing the world - but then giving it up when he kills a brain cell with every tackle.

I feel he can accomplish a lot of good to any local community by being a football player over a Rhodes Scholar.

Most football stars do community outreach to troubled schools. This gives him the opportunity to show kids that they really can do anything so long as they study hard and put forth their best effort.
