So an Indian-American won Miss America 2014, and naturally the USA had a racial meltdown over it. http://www.buzzfeed.com/ryanhatesthis/a ... ican-woman I wonder how many of those tweeters are Republican? Just saying... How do I feel about an Indian-American winning? I think it's awesome. Brown chicks can be pretty smexci.
I like brown chicks, but she isn't even that good looking. I've seen better brown chicks in a hen house.
Ooooh Indian Indian... I thought you meant like Native american. You know, Johnny Depp Indian. Can we get a pic of her here where she's not crying? Brown skin is best skin
Leathen posted that, and I agree with longo. She looks like she's been punched in the gut in that photo.
I would love to see a Native Miss America. Red skin ladies really bring up some feelings of Manifest Destiny, if you know what I mean. Something something Trail of Tears innuendo.
What amazes me even more is how this is even a news story at all. I mean, since when did it become newsworthy to report on what people are tweeting? How are a few dozen tweets out of a population of 300+ million suddenly a lot? Who gives a shit that some guy in Buttfuck Alabama doesn't like brown people? Why give him more attention than he deserves by giving him any recognition at all? Even more, some of those people probably post all kinds of inflammatory stuff just to get any kind of attention at all. The way media works now sucks. There is this need to have news all the time now so every little trivial thing becomes a news story or article. Is there like a job now for people to just search through tweets and facebook to find posts to support whatever "story" they are working on? It literally makes me laugh that a few dozen assholes posting offensive things is suddenly on every news site. Why don't they just visit that homefront or stormfront or whateverthefuck site that is and have a news story every day that there are racists on the internet.... Rant aside, I'm a big fan of non-white women so yay for her.
Natives are not pronounced Indians anymore. That's just friggin confusing. Almost as confusing as Indians being Asain but not "Asian". And as a Canadian, this story is hilarious. Especially how people are linking it to the 12th anniversary of 9/11. Oh jeebus! Here's a pic that doesn't look like she was attacked by a red neck.
I call them Natives. Still, she's not that great. She looks more like a drag queen than a beauty queen. Amirite?
Don't care, moving on. Except one thing, those tweets are from morons. USA was founded by immigrants. So "This is America" is just dumb.
I reckon she's a beautiful lady. Uh, anyway. As a foreigner to the US, I find this whole situation dumb, how people are getting so angry that this woman won the Miss USA pageant. I love how the news is making such a big deal about it too... it's been all over News.com.au, Ninemsn.com.au and Internet forums in general. To tell you the truth, if it weren't for these news sources I wouldn't know anything about it. Isn't America supposed to be the land of the free, the land of opportunity or something along those lines? If this woman is eligible to enter the competition to begin with, then she's certainly eligible to have the potential to win.
Like I said, they are making a big deal out of it because news sites are so desperate for traffic that they just flat out manufacture news stories and once one of them do it, they all follow suit. That is how a fraction of a percent of total Americans being ignorant becomes "a lot." It's so absurd that there are no words for me to describe how stupid it really is. Rather than focus on the woman herself and her story, the story is now about a couple of ignorant tweets. News reporting at it's finest. P.S. I think she is pretty hot.
