Welcome to the game of Mafia. If this is your first time playing please read all of the rules and how to play.
How to play
You have received a PM with a specific role regarding the game. Your character is either a member of the Mafia or a citizen of the town. The game is split up into two segments; Night time and day time. During night time, the Mafia secretly votes for who they want to kill the following day. During day time, the citizens will discuss who they think is suspicious and publicly vote to lynch someone. If you do not believe anyone to be suspicious yet, you can vote for a "No Lynch."
Rules
If you are dead, you are out of the game an no longer allowed to post. Please try to refrain from posting in this thread during night time. Do not PM each other UNLESS you are part of the Mafia crew. Each night and day will last appropriately 24 hours depending on how slow/fast the game is going.
Roles
Here are all of the different roles people were assigned in the game.
Townies
Townies are innocent citizens from various different jobs. They do not have any tasks to perform at night, but during the day they can help lynch people they feel are suspicious.
The Cops
Two people have been selected to play police officers. During the night, they will scan people and find out if they are either guilty and in the Mafia. Or not guilty and just an innocent citizen.
The Informant
The Informant works with the police and will choose one person each night to stakeout. The Informant will learn who that person went to visit, but not his role.
The Mafia
Three people have been selected as Mafia. They are all aware of each other and are allowed to communicate with each other at any point in the game. Along with The Godfather and their lawyer, the townies need to be suspicious of who they think these people are.
The Godfather
The Godfather receives advice from the Mafia and is the one who delivers the hit on someone each night. The Godfather is the hardest Mafia member to catch, because even if police scan him, he will be revealed as Not Guilty.
The Lawyer
The lawyer has been hired by the Mafia. His job each night will be to send me the name of somebody he wishes to frame. If a cop scans someone who the lawyer also framed he will appear as guilty. The lawyer can also defend a member of the Mafia and make him appear not guilty for a cop scanning him. If a cop scans the lawyer, he will be revealed as such.
The Vigilante
The Vigilante is a crime fighter who takes the law into his own hands. Each night he will kill off someone, they could be Mafia or innocent. The Vigilante has a chance to give the citizens an advantage, or give the Mafia an advantage depending on who he chooses.
The Doctor
Each night, the doctor will send me the name of someone he wishes to protect. Should the vigilante or the Mafia attempt to kill that person, they will be saved and live to see another day.
The Town Drunk
The drunk is a lonely alcoholic who needs someone to get hammered with each night. He will send me the name of someone he wishes to drink with. That person will no longer be able to perform their task and instead will be getting wasted.
