Today marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles live performance on the Ed Sullivan show. A monumental achievement in rock and roll history. I've been watching a bit of the tribute show and it's pretty cool.

Like many music lovers I love The Beatles with songs like Hey Jude, While my Guitar Gently Weeps, Helter Skelter, Strawberry Fields and A Day in the Life. As far as albums go I'd say as a whole i'm a big fan of Revolver. Tax Man, Eleanor Rigby, Tomorrow Never Knows, etc. Just really great and inspirational music.

What are some of your favorite Beatles tunes?

I actually like the movie musical, Across the Universe, versions of the Beatles songs way more than the originals. (I'm also under 30 so I didn't spend much time listening to the originals)

There are other Beatles songs in the movie.

I'll be honest with you, the only good songs from that movie for me was helter skelter (dang that janis joplin look-a-like was awesome!), that strawberry field forever one and maybe that I'm the walrus one. Everything else? Didn't really give justice to the original songs. It's a nice film and all but they tried WAY too hard to be the new "Hair".

Now Yellow submarine, on the other hand...

That was an awesome film to get high to, that's for sure.

Revolver is most likely my favorite album by them, but With A Little Help From My Friends and A Day In Life are both incredible songs I like very much.

Never been a huge fan, but listen to them when the right mood hits.

Its like picking your favorite child. It's difficult to really do so in the end.

My personal favorites are Come Together and Revolution. Back in the U.S.S.R is another good one that doesn't get much play anymore though, but god damn its a fun song.

Links somehow managed to pick my three least-favorite Beatles songs. Hmm...

Honestly, I grew up listening to the Beatles White Album (one of my mom's favorite albums). There really aren't any songs I dislike on it. They're one of those bands that progressed with each album and each album seems pretty complete in and of themselves. But there are still a couple tracks I could care less for.

Whilst Beatles isn't my cup of tea, all my friends fucking love it, so I've heard my fair share on long car journeys.

My favourite song is when I turn the stereo off.

Seriously respect them and their music though - good job guys.
